I don't think the NCAA's preference for Indianapolis is really because their HQ is there. I think it's because Lucas Oil and Gainbridge are both very high end venues, both far better than the Dome or Enterprise, and Indianapolis as a city invests far more into their downtown and attracting events and conventions than we do.
I am also encouraged by the fact that we were able to be a finalist, in part probably because we are a much larger and economically influential city than Indianapolis, but Lucas Oil is one of the single best stadiums in the NFL while the Dome....doesn't even have its naming rights sold.
If the stadiums were swapped, they would have chosen STL, because their choice is not based on where their headquarters are.
