Word is that they will be getting the facade cleaned and windows in place while still developing the final interior plans.

If you are going to tag such prime real estate, wouldn't you want to come up with something original? painting F*CK is so....... 7th grade, for lack of a better phrase....

You've identified the target educational level of those who do this.

What about the guy that keeps tagging "Forgive Yourself" all over town? If you haven't noticed it before you will now.

You forgot bed box and bed boxx. Saw that he got the bus shelter at Kingshighway and Arsenal recently.

It boggles my mind that no one has caught this kid in the act, as busy as he is... It's not like his tags are in discreet locations. Makes me want to keep my pellet gun in the back of my jeep just in case I happen to see him....

You've gotta feel sorry for a guy with nothing better to do with his life than run around town vandalizing other people's property.

Great pics. They really make it easy to see how 55/70 severed this part of town and left it to rot. On the other hand, what a great clump of buildings.

I don't think I've ever walked through that neighborhood. RBB's pics are giving me the urge to get down there and explore.

yeah that area's pretty emptied out. there's a cool looking Catholic church that I think gets limited use still. I use Chouteau's Landing as shortcut on my bike to get from Soulard to the Arch grounds and downtown

My guess is that since they are having a difficult time renting out the units that make up the "Historic 4th Street District" it may take some time to get this neighborhood moving. They have a good selection of commercial space and artist studios that, from what I can tell, are pretty much empty. They probably can't move to the next phase until this one is complete; kicking out that bar certainly doesn't help.

This neighborhood has such great potential and redevelopment will go along way in improving the Riverfront. I imagine a great well traveled spine connecting Chouteau's Landing, The Arch grounds, and Laclede's Landing.

Getting the Arts Center moving will surely help out significantly in this redevelopment project. Any updates? I've heard so many things about when construction is going to start I don't know what to believe.

I wish we could get some more stuff to the Landing(Laclede's), that's not a bar and then link Chouteau's and Laclede's landing, as one big "historic" area, think Main St. St. Charles (but less uppity?)
