^ Do you think this new setup will lead to the Dome finally getting a major sponsor & advertisers?

With regards to the Taylor Swift discussions a few weeks ago, let's keep in mind that 2018 Swift stop in STL was at Enterprise. The KC show was at Arrowhead & the Indy show was at Lucas Oil. Both significantly larger venues. (Obviously impacting attendance figures)

As part of this bill, the Dome is getting about $5m a year from the county hotel tax going forward, basically it closes its 10 year $155m maintenance need.

Private operators should also be named soon.
Thought experiment - would STL County in 2026 agree to subsidize a downtown STL convention center to the tune of $5M/year? Keep in mind, I think it's wholly appropriate but....different world.

Taylor Swift was at the Dome in 2018 and drew nearly 48,000. She hasn't been at Enterprise since 2015 when she had 2 shows for a combined 30,000.

In 2013 she had 29k across 2 nights at Enterprise, in 2011 she had 28k across 2 nights at Enterprise, and 14k in 2009.

^Yep, you're right...my bad.

I would guess she'd sell out in 2026 no matter where she plays, including STL, as her popularity has gone through the roof since the last time she was here.

Well, it is.  The bribe is they get $50m that the account already has to patch their deficits.  But going forward that money goes to the dome maintenance account and in about a decade grows to $15m a year.   It generates $15m a year now but $10m goes to various bonds related to sports complexes built in the county

^ A reminder of St. Louis County's financial situation. Government finance equivalent of trading in grandmas jewelry to pay down a credit card.

The International Robotics Competition is underway in Downtown St. Louis, bringing in an estimated 15,000 people each day and a projected total $32 million regional impact. Perhaps even more important, these kids are being newly introduced to St. Louis and hopefully having positive experiences in the city. This sort of event is a great way to show off the city to up-and-coming generations who may want to live here eventually. The competition will be held in St. Louis both this year and in 2027 after being moved from Dallas (yuk) where it resided for 5 years.

When the Black Eyed Peas were at their peak they were the surprise musical act for the robotics convention. That was a great show! I wonder who they have on the schedule this year.

Just an idea for an exterior renovation motivated by all the press the exterior of the Dome has been getting.

^ Nothing too flashy, but pretty amazing what some new/additional windows, lights, and just one logo/sign can do for it.  Would be a very welcomed refresh.

I love the sentiment, but I'm afraid that looks more like a giant Rally's.

Does anyone know if the tunnel from the Dome to the Casino is still open & in use for people going back & forth? It has been a long time since I used it. Just curious.

It's still open. We used it for most of the Battlehawks games. However the "people movers" are all non functioning at this point.
