Isn't it great that people's only viable option from Jeffco to the city is I-55? Yay America.

I’d give up lanes to get a Metro from STL Downtown to Festus. Maybe the last part could be subway line to NGA. Would be a complete line. Sadly the lack of vision in the region is why it doesn’t happen. Metro should look into getting more IL money for grey line to SIUE. It makes too much sense to extend Metro Red to St. Charles and blue in a loop around the South Side back to downtown. State legislators would throw a fit.Auggie wrote:A MetroLink line straight up I-55 would get heavily used.Fraydog wrote: ↑Sep 30, 2025I missed that wreck by 15 minutes. Truckers are insane in that area. The trucker who caused the wreck is now in JeffCo lockup in Hillsboro for vehicular manslaughter. Guy from Louisiana who probably didn’t know about 55 construction and was probably asleep at the wheel. I’m betting he was hauling goods that could have been moved cheaper and faster by train. As someone who lives way south, most people haven’t given a thought about any sort of public transportation in that area. Yet it’s another sign of them crippling lack of ambition this region has.Auggie wrote:https://www.firstalert4.com/2025/09/28/ ... led-crash/

Madison County opposes MetroLink, they aren't even in Metro's transit district, see Madison County Transit.Fraydog wrote: ↑Oct 02, 2025I’d give up lanes to get a Metro from STL Downtown to Festus. Absolutely.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Oct 06, 2025Anyone else find it comical / ironic/ a travesty they are introducing golf cart regulations when they don’t enforce traffic law?
Reporting 4 are now deceased. I was driving north on 170 around 1:45 pm when traffic came to almost a stand still at the Rock Rd. How very sad & tragic there’s been a lot of wild & horrifying incidents recently.quincunx wrote:KSDK - Wrong-way crash on I-170 kills 2, triggers traffic backup near St. Louis

It's been just a week and you're angry there's not a plan delivered?PeterXCV wrote: ↑Oct 07, 2025Wow and they're just going to tear it down straightaway without a clear replacement plan? Huge difference in how pedestrian vs car infrastructure is treated. That'll significantly worsen forest park's connectivity w the central west end. Can this crazy driver's insurance cover it?
I missed anything that says they aren't going to replace the pedestrian bridge.PeterXCV wrote: ↑Oct 07, 2025Yeah dweebe because if it were a bridge for cars there'd be no question it'd be rebuilt there'd be no need for a study about it.
