Without exaggeration, I walk over these bridges 10X/week and had no idea they were damaged. Heck, I used them this very morning. Zero signage or markers that it was damaged. weirdkg2024 wrote: ↑Oct 07, 2025Unfortunate closure but isn't the end of the world, the alternate bridge is only 400 yards away. It's also not like it's the accessible route either, there's dozens of steps involved to take the closed route. I actually hope they broaden the reconstruction scope a bit to infill the narrow path between the two ped bridges so it's all at the same level with railings, the steep slopes and level changes are somewhat dangerous. The non-standard stairs to the east of the Metrolink bridge are also a hazard with the odd tread depths and no handrail. Repaint/refresh the historic ped bridge over the tracks while they're at it.
Personally - and this is indeed about ME. LOL - this sucks. No, 400 yards isn't a lot but that's 7-10 mins added on my walking commute.
