I think it is a change in the political climate and the increase in social medial attention these things get. Things that alarm people will always get more attention - kind of the same story as customers who are unhappy with service tell 10 but those who are happy tell 1 or 2. It is a hard battle to fight.
They should have put turnstiles on it from the beginning!

There was a shooting near Delmar and DeBaliviere (Delmar and goodfelllow to be precise) last night. Quite unfortunate and by reading the comments on nextdoor, looks like it was not that surprising for that particular neighborhood. So common that it didn't make it to the news.

Not surprising at all. As a resident a short walk away it’s pretty common to hear gunshots in that direction frequently.
