really? I thought the oppsite tonight coing into the city. All the new lighted signs on the buildings, The arch being lit, and Lumiere's tower beacon - I think the city is colorful and bright these days.
I think we could use a little more lighting downtown, although we've come a very long way in recent years.
I'd really like to see a downtown building totally awash in light, as opposed to just lit with spotlights. I was in Cincinnati a few months ago for a Cards game, and the first thing I saw when I came out of the stadium was a historic building with its facade totally lit with flood lights - it looked amazing.
^ No one ever says "Ugh, that city looks way too bright."
On the other hand, I have heard many people complain about a city looking dark and ominous. BRING ON THE LIGHTS!
Back to the immediate tower...
Per the Alberici website, this tower has 183,000 sqft. At a cost of $70,000,000 (also from the website), that means that this will have to sell at over $382 (average) per sq foot just to break even. How comparable is this to the current downtown market? It seems to me that this will be a previously un-tested price point in our market. I'm interested to see some numbers.

Just to clarify, the Roberts are selling this space as is (raw) and allowing the buyers to complete it as they see fit?
I think that is the case in regards to the raw space of the tower.
It now appears that the 24th floor is close to being finished. There is rooftop structure thing above the 24th that is about the height of 1 story, per the renderings. So essentially there is maybe 15 feet more to go before being completely topped out.
The Roberts Tower is currently the most exciting development in downtown (alongside playoff baseball), and it's been over a month since the last photo update. Is it possible someone could post some updated pictures? I'd love to see what it looks like close to topping out.
^ took these pictures yesterday. Not sure why I didn't take one of the entire building from the front (which I'm sure is what you're looking for)... I guess I got too excited about my photomerge of the plaza.
So does anyone actually know what they are planning on doing with all of the exposed concrete? Paint/cladding? That large wall in the last pic looks very bad. The washington view is the evil twin to the locust view.
Really makes an impression on the skyline from a lot of various views. I would have to say my favorite (and coincidentally most unexpected is the view coming into downtown going North on Tucker (esp. over the bridge). Very cool to see!
The inside of the Mayfair is under construction, they are connecting to the Tower on their second floor. The Tower will house new ballroom space for the Mayfair. Sounded like they are booking the ballroom space for June 2010.
