The tower looks halfway built already! This is going to be a nice sized tower for the type of recession we are experiencing. Great for St. Louis!
Also looks like the trees are starting to bloom. This place is going to kick ass.

leeharveyawesome wrote:It great that when you get off Metrolink at 8th and Pine the first thing you see is the Arcade building all boarded up and windows missing and plastic sheets blowin' in the wind. Those bay windows on that building are just mind-bogglingly huge and expertly crafted.
Gives visitors that nice "post-apocalyptic" feel, doesn't it? The view of the Dillard's Building and St. Louis Centre at the next stop isn't great either.
It's sad to see two beautiful buildings (Dillard's/Arcade), both practically on top of a Metrolink station, sit empty and abandoned. In most cities this kind of property would be the first to be developed. We have a long way to go. Fortunately, it seems the Dillard's/Laurel project is still moving forward.

I am really liking how dark the glass is so far on this one. I hope it stays darker than the rendering had shown.

Those windows look just like the ones I replaced on my 1950s ranch home in Crestwood. Sweet aluminum frame, YUK!
When the first row went in I was not pleased, but as more floors are installed the windows are looking better. I just took new pics today, so look for those in a couple of days.
my verdict hasn't come in yet on the windows. at first i thought pretty cheap..but we'll see...
I took new pics again, and these ones will get up on the interwebs. The first balcony door went in today.
Thursday, June 4th.

They're working on the 16th floor. I believe the tower will be 24 stories, so eight more to go. They will soon have to extend the crane.

^ This building will be taller than I expected. Will this be seen in the skyline?
It'll probably show up better aerially and from the south. Maybe someone could manipulate the photo below to demonstrate the building's context in the skyline looking north.goat314 wrote:^ This building will be taller than I expected. Will this be seen in the skyline?

^ I think from there it will actually show up in between Laclede and U.S. Bank.
I drove by the other day and it appears that they were on the 15 or 16th floor and it was about 15 feet higher than the 190 foot Mayfair. It is roughly 2/3 done and over 200 feet. This one has a shot at making the elusive(for STL) 300 foot height barrier.

^Eh. It'll be the mechanicals placing it above 300'. The roof of the last floor (per the site plans) was 292'. so we can expect it to be just over that range. It will break the barrier, but we won't be able to tell any difference.
Either way, loving how its turning out.

I haven't had a chance to ps my pics due to jury duty and needing do a lot of work in the evenings, so sorry about that. I did notice yesterday new banners being put up for the sales office in the Roberts Lofts. I assume they wanted to be ready for the tour today.
From the loft tour, in the syndicate building.
You can see the current height difference.

You can see the current height difference.

It's all a matter of perspective.newstl2020 wrote:^ I think from there it will actually show up in between Laclede and U.S. Bank.
I doubt that it will be visible at all. At best, a smidge will be visible just to the left of the Laclede Gas building.
