^ The girl's got STL connections. I've heard stories of her coming into town every year around the holidays visiting with one of her mother's best friends who lives full-time in Mid-County. She had her favorite bar in the CWE she would supposedly stop at every year around Thanksgiving when the whole family came into town, but that bar's closed now. Just stories, I'd never seen her there. Doesn't hurt that her best friend, Karlie Kloss, is from STL, too.
Neat podcast episode from The Journal by WSJ about the state of small businesses in the face of rising interest rates - this episode spotlights Clementine's Nice and Naughty Creamery in STL and the host speaks with the owner Tamara Keefe on her challenges of getting a business loan from banks in the area - worth a listen even if you're not a podcast listener!

It was posted elsewhere but worth posting here as it’s a great group of cities to be featured alongside.

Here's an interesting mention: Several local congregations, including one my aunt attended for decades, made a Politico article discussing religious organizations suing to block abortion restrictions on religious grounds. It's not a story about St. Louis per se, but some local folks figure in it prominently.
The sleeper legal strategy that could topple abortion bans.

That was the dumbest, thinnest, poorly conceived conspiracy theory piece of $#!% drivel. I'm embarrassed I clicked on it and upped his numbers.

Money magazine ranks Kirkwood 36th best place to live in the US. (My wife and I are actually in the lead photo but very very hard to find. We’ll be there tomorrow night too.)

Hmmm . . . Never heard of this jazz fusion band. Album from 1979.

Well, dang it, I can't seem to be able to post pics from my phone. The album cover features a large shot of the Arch.
And, back in 1977, the Kansas City-based band Missouri (something of a one-hit-wonder) released this rather incongruous album cover. Those were my high school days, so I remember this one well.

^Love the concept. (Listening to Kilamanjaro now. So far I'm quite liking what I'm hearing.)
How a Small Gender Clinic Landed in a Political Storm: Washington University’s youth gender clinic in St. Louis, like others around the world, was overwhelmed by new patients and struggled to provide them with mental health care.

Maybe one of the best quotes of all time…

I'm a Marc Maron fan.
He's had several nice things to say about St. Louis over the years, though the man absolutely loathes Missouri and often refers to it as a fascist state.
