How do you feel about a Panda Express…..symphonicpoet wrote: ↑Sep 29, 2022^^I hope the Asian restaurants, grocers, retailers, and other services fight that. And fight to stay.
. . . On the other hand, we could welcome them to Southerer Grand. If'n they needed a place to go. (There's already a pretty good little strip of VN focused stuff. Assuming the more Chinese focused business can get along with Vietnamese neighbors. Which I suspect they could. For reasons.)
The south side of Olive has been leveled, and heavy infrastructure work is happening.
Raising Canes joining Chick-fil-A. Maybe they can fit in a KFC and Popeyes also.

What should we name a strip mall with such dynamic offerings?
The Coopery?
Chicken Crossings?
Chicken Centre?
EggatheChristie?
Cracker Barrel?

This is depressing. Evict small business owners, replace with utter trash.jshank83 wrote: ↑Nov 18, 2022Raising Canes joining Chick-fil-A. Maybe they can fit in a KFC and Popeyes also.

Not sure which chicken place this is. Across the street from Costco.
Will this kill the Olive Schnucks?

StlToday - Dierbergs plans new University City store
https://www.stltoday.com/business/local ... b55e4.htmlCostco is the only retailer currently open at Markets at Olive. Chase Bank and restaurant chains Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane's, Chipotle, First Watch and Panera Bread, known locally as St. Louis Bread Co., have signed leases at the development, according to city documents. It's not clear when they are expected open.
Just spitballin, but I don't think that's their aim. I think this is Dierbergs targeting Ladue, Clayton and other nearby residents who don't want to mess with the Eager Rd area.quincunx wrote: ↑Feb 27, 2023Will this kill the Olive Schnucks?

Hell, I wouldn't mind Target returning to their old spot on Olive.
^ You don’t have to go to Eager Road to go to to a supermarket though. There’s a Schnucks at 40/Lindbergh, 170/Ladue and Clayton Road on the border of Clayton and Richmond Heights.
I’m talking about fans of Dierbergs who are willing to pay a premium price for a premium grocery shopping experience.
Agree with this. I use the Ladue Schnucks about 95% of the time. It is the closest to me and I don't want to deal with getting into Brentwood pointe or whatever the Dierbergs is in. I really only go there now when I need something they have and Schnucks doesn't. I am more likely to go there at the new location, although it probably still will be 90% Schnucks.dweebe wrote: ↑Feb 27, 2023Just spitballin, but I don't think that's their aim. I use the U City Olive schmucks all the time, and have no problem with it (it's the closest to me, other than Aldi's and Pete's, which I don't care for). I may be tempted by the new Dierbergs, though. I'll at least check it out.
I love how auto-correct insists on "schmucks".

U-City drove out all the minority owned businesses and for a Costco and other chains, now we have a Dierbergs coming too, Ewww....
This is one of the reasons I dislike Dierbergs beside the poor customer service experience and high prices. They also put a store at the old Crestwood mall site as well when you have a Schnucks right across the street! Talk about grocery store saturation! You also have the Asian grocery stores, Aldi and Schnucks on Olive as well. I hope that Dierbergs goes away and that store closes up months later and an H-Mart takes its place. One can only wish that happens! I can't stand Dierbergs!
Oh and Dierbergs dislikes Metrolink near their Brentwood location and it took over 10 years before Metro added a walkway to the station.

Ladue Schnucks put up signs all over the store comparing their prices to Dierbergs.

Did they do that everywhere? I assumed it was specific to the Crestwood store given the impending opening of Dierbergs across the street.
Not sure. I figured it was because of the announcement of the Dierbergs going in at 170/olive. But maybe they did it other places also.Black02AltimaSE wrote: ↑Mar 06, 2023Did they do that everywhere? I didn't notice them at the Richmond Heights and Maplewood Schnucks this weekend.Black02AltimaSE wrote: ↑Mar 06, 2023Did they do that everywhere? I assumed it was specific to the Crestwood store given the impending opening of Dierbergs across the street.
