I think that’s where they did sign ups for the new one. Can’t remember what was in that building before. I am surprised they will have fuelMH391 wrote: ↑Apr 15, 2023The mayor of St. John posted on his Facebook that Costco is planning to open a Costco business center at St. Charles Rock Rd and 170, about 2 miles north of the University City store.
Can’t speak for them. But I’m sure cost of construction and operational challenges were the reasons. I think Target bailed first. Then Dierberg’s followed.

Don't worry. They'll probably be able to fill the space with a car wash, another gas station, and oil change place. #winning
I don't remember hearing anything about a proposed Target here. Did I miss something?
^ I was going to say the same thing. I definitely remember the Dierbergs but never heard anything about a Target. This isn't that far of a drive from the Promenade.

Dierbergs pulling out of this development is the best news I hear out of this, if true. I am sure once the Dierbergs is built there, it would probably close after a year or two because area demographics don't fit their model. It would be nice to see an Asian grocery store like H-Mart get built there. So much wasted opportunity and loss of small minority businesses in that area of Olive for cookie cutter chains.
There's already a thriving Asian grocery store just a half mile east on Olive (used to be a second, but it was recently closed because of health code violations; not sure if they're gonna reopen or not).
We've all heard Target has been trying to years to take pressure off the Brentwood store. They failed with the McKnight & Manchester and then there's been rumors of them around the Olive and Page areas. But I don't ever remember it being official/semi-official like Dierbergs.
If anything Target can just got back to the 8000 block of Olive where they left back in the early 1990's.

It does look like the Diebergs site work is underway.framer wrote: ↑Jun 30, 2023I thought the Dierberg's was already under construction.

A Dierbergs will do very well in this location. I for one am looking forward to stop going to the one in Brentwood due to the congestion.
I was over there yesterday where is it supposed to go? I didn’t see any buildings that would be a Dierbergs going in unless it was east of the Costco
Does anyone have a link to the plans here or an easy place to look up plans in U city. The gas station across McKnight from where the raising canes is going in now has a fence around it. Hoping it is getting torn down and replaced with something because it is an eyesore.

That is written like we should know who that is.
