I'd be really surprised if they went into this area. Their store footprint and parking lots are always big.

What strikes me is when you get off at Olive from the innerbelt and travel east past all the new stuff is the obvious run down old strip stores and overall decay.  When will all the new tax money from all that new stuff be available to encourage development of the 'left out' areas on Olive ?

The thing that's funny is just how many of those little strip malls are occupied with small, family owned businesses, that contribute tax money to the community. While the big, fancy, new developments are usually partially or entirely tax abated. It's not my neighborhood, so I don't get a vote, but I do rather like some of the restaurants and stores in those old strip malls, and patronize them when I'm nearby. Mind you, I do shop at Costco every now and then, and my wife loves the place, so I'm not here to criticize. And I wish U-City the best. I just hope they don't lose the "Chinatown" character so many local merchants worked so hard to build.

Idk if this is from the development tax money or some other funding but that strip of businesses is getting new sidewalks and drive entrances from McKnight to 82nd Street.

State highway. MoDOT has been putting in sidewalks on state highways in the county for a while now.
