If this gets built as illustrated this would be such an uplift St.Louis’s skyline needs & BPV3 looks equally wonderful. Fingers crossed

Crossing my fingers that they keep the current scale of the multi-family tower. Would be a massive change in perception of the riverfront and be a great addition to the skyline.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Dec 17, 2025Chris posted this over at city scene

What a win this would be. Hoping its not the pie in the sky version that gets pared down after incentives are given.
Are those solar panels atop the Stadium East Garage?

Big tower has been cracked open. By this summer a crane will be up to take it down from the top. Based on the schedule posted above, I’d they they’re 4-6 weeks behind that and most likely June 2027 finish
Cranes up
For the shorter building, at least. Just from what I can see from driving by on I-44 the past couple days since it went up, that crane does not have the capacity to hold enough boom for the taller tower portion.

That tower looks so mysterious! I bet it would tell some amazing stories.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Dec 27, 2025Big tower has been cracked open. Wrecking ball gets here Monday to start on the smaller tower

+2

I expected a bigger ball. I want one like in the cartoons
Not critiquing the demo crew, but I do find it humorous that with all the advancements in our society, swinging a heavy ball at the building is still the prescribed solution to demo.

About 1/3rd of the shorter building was still up last night when I was driving home around 9pm. None of it was standing this morning. There was a crew balling it last night. I don't know if they were very efficient in finishing it off, or it went down quicker than expected in some way, but it's a weird feeling going by empty space there now.
There's a big glass building that's part of the complex and is still being used. So that's why they can't implode/use explosives.petetch wrote: ↑12:07 AM - Feb 10Not critiquing the demo crew, but I do find it humorous that with all the advancements in our society, swinging a heavy ball at the building is still the prescribed solution to demo.

Tall tower will be taken down by hand from the roof to the 10th floor and than the wrecking ball will be used. You’ll see a scaffolding going up soon.
Building under the building is on its way out

The crane for the tower is being assembled now and should be up by 3rd week of April

The big crane assembly started this morning. Looks like they got the tracks, carbody, cab, and counterweights on today. Boom tomorrow. Looks like a Manitowoc MLC 300. That's a big boy, and despite it being used for demolition in this case, it will be nice to have a big crane so visible on the skyline. Hopefully it's not long after demo until the tower cranes are up for the new buildings.
A couple mini excavators and a skid steer pecking at each floor is going to look kind of funny in comparison to how quickly the shorter building was brought down.
