So it's going to hurt?

I noticed that too, and hope they get it back up quickly. Been waiting a while to see how they do the comb over, so now's the time I'd really like to be watching the progress.

Conan O'Brien, eat your heart out.

On second thought, Conan still reigns supreme.
Do you guys maybe think the brown streak will be backlit at night? For example the space between the "bricks" would show light through.
Just a thought.
Sorry dude, just joking. Didn't mean to tick you off.

That's fine. I wasn't serious.
Oooo...the comb-over just keeps expanding. Man that is weird looking.

Oh No. The brown streak has taken on a whole new direction. Combining the comb-over and the brown streak ... not good. Man, I just pray that brown goes away. If not ... wow. ... Wow.
Yeah, I was looking forward to the comb over, but I was thinking they'd be putting glass in between the two streaks. If they just connect the brown like they're doing now, without anything additional, it's gonna look very strange.

a. don't anyone worry - these guys know what they're doing and we're going to get something very, very close to the last rendering - no brown streak.
b. it looks like a turtle head.

These guys do know what they're doing.

ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH

Wanted: Smart, outgoing and energetic men and women to serve drinks and food at a new downtown St. Louis casino.
All the better if you have modeling, acting, dancing, singing or cheerleading experience.
Oh, and one other thing: It never hurts to be pretty.
Las Vegas-based Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. is in the midst of a massive hiring spree to fill some 1,200 jobs needed to run its $495 million Lumière Place when it opens in December. But none of the jobs will attract as much attention as the so-called Ladies and Gents of Lumière.
These will be the revealingly attired women and men serving as cocktail waitresses, bartenders and food servers throughout the complex. They will also promote the casino at special events, parties, football games and the like. They'll appear in print and broadcast spots. Maybe even a calendar.
I don't gamble much, but I already know where I'm going when I do gamble.

For numerous reasons, including my own personal reasons, I really hope this development is a smash...I can't wait for phase 2...
Just because it hasn't been posted in a while. The Lumiere webcam: http://www.oxblue.com/pro/open/?webPath ... tlouiscity

(Quoting their ads.) Do you really want to be a "model, actor, valet parking attendant all rolled into one"?
Sorry but I just can't help but to think when I look at this development that it is a head-on collision between a Vegas style casino and a St. Charles style casino. So odd.
Oooh..they are paving the streets now.

I'm inclined to think the same thing. We got a closer look at this place when we were downtown on Saturday for the loft tour. I could be wrong, but I still think the brown surface looks like a protective cover of some sort. When I looked at it from certain angles, it looked like a tarp stretched out over the actual surface underneath. Like I said, I may be wrong, but I also have the feeling these guys know what they're doing and we're really going to like the tower when it's done.
^ I heard that only minorities were allowed; ie, good looking people with personalities.
If you look at the webcam shot and zoom in on the left side of the comb over, you can see the interior of it. Looks light in color, wish I could tell how thick the brown layer is.

Ha! Well, I guess you can call that a "minority."
