^ 5. Good question. With the millions of lights, youd think they could occasionally do something more interesting than white.

I get the feeling that its not working as they had planned, seeing as it didn't even really turn on during the "Light Up the Night" Opening ceremony....

I am doing some work with a company that is located on the landing so i see it every day..... Never changes from white. Maybe they are rewriting the software or something....

There will not be a Crobar at Lumiere.

This is simply an untrue rumor or unknown origin.

Crobar has stores in Chicago and Miami and recently closed both the New York and Rio locations. Crobar plans to open a new location in Hollywood, CA. shortly, and is working on Beijing, China (in time for the olympics).

The Crobar brand is synonomous with global clubbing.

St. Louis is not a global clubbing city, and could not support the

business model (mega-club). Crobar "St. Louis" would also hurt the cachet of the brand nationally and internationally.

It is a fact that Big Time, the company that operates Crobar was interested in opening a dance club in the St. Louis market, but that was several years ago. The club would not have carried the Crobar brand and would have been the first of a new brand of clubs designed specifically for secondary markets (the brand was ultimately never launched).

You're the one I would trust would know the story so it must be true. (not being sarcastic)

I was also doubtful about Crobar coming here. But I thought (after closing some locations) maybe the original owners had gotten out and someone was franchising the name.

Do you think of St Louis when "global culture" comes to mind? I don't. Seriously, it's a joke in comparison to places like New York, Tokyo, London, or Rio.

Maybe it will improve in the future, but it seriously has a loooong way to go.

5. What happened to the 45,000 light combinations on the glohawk?

I heard today that the glohawk works just fine. The higher-ups at their home office want it kept one color because it's "classier". Makes you wonder why they spent the money to make it do 45,000 combinations if they didn't want it to change.

PostJan 23, 2008#1435

Also asked about the nightclub concept. They said they still don't know what it's going to be. It was going to be a Miami nightclub called Opium, then a sportsbar, then a nightclub again, then it got dropped until they work on second part of the project.

Red, White, and Red on Christmas.

Orange on Halloween.

Green for St. Patricks.

Red for Valentines Day.

Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Red, White, and Blue for July 4th.

When I lived in Chicago , I use to look at the Hancock or the Sears Tower to remind myself what time of the year it was.

I was kinda confused about the club idea the last time I was there as well. I asked our server at burger-bar what the velvet -roped off staircase was next to the entrance to BB and she said that it was supposed to be a club, but they did not know when it would be opening. I thought this was on the other side of the casino from the hotel. Any ideas? The only thing I thought of was that it was simply bad info from the server.

The hotels will be opening soon, can someone point me in the right direction for any pre construction pics of the interior Embassy Suites (Hotel Lumiere)?

The 10,000 sqft. that was going to be the nightclub is above burger bar. It's still an unfinished construction area.

The pictures of Hotel Lumiere looks great. That Embassy Suites really needed a refresh and it looks like Lumiere did a great job.

I love how they transformed the old embassy suites. That lobby looks really nice. Still holding out for some pre construction fotos :)

Beautiful, funky hotels. Go St. Louis!

The HoteLumiere photos remind me of Philly's Sheraton Society Hill - a simple exterior with a surprisingly beautiful interior and atrium.

They had better put a bar on that roof-top patio. Amazing.

I have been there several times (I am up over $150!) and am disapointed that a casino called "lumiere" there is a suprising lack of light on the portico or in the casino itself. The casino floor is very small, compared to Harrahs and Ameristar. It vexes me that it seems that there is no theme in this casino... with a name like "lumiere" they could have had a really cool "theme" but alas... its no different than Harrahs (The staff is more friendly here though)

The casino floor reminds me a lot of Planet Hollywood in Vegas. I'm a fan.

Also, the new SLeek is looking REALLY good. They have a HUGE wine case and great design throughout.
