The state limit on liquor licenses is 3 am. locally, cities can vote on whether to allow 3 am licenses (standard licensing calls for a 1:30 am limit). Recently, for instance, St. Charles allowed a 3 am for the new "Home" nightclub developement in the Ameristar Casino. Competitively, Lumiere needs to push for a 5 am license downtown. Since bars can start serving again at 6 am, this would effectively be a 23-hour license. This would be a better way to word things "2-hour extension" vs "24-hour license". So, the state would have to create a new "adult entertainment zone" designation for these "exteded" licenses. It would affect not only serving of alchohol, but also cabaret licensing, which currently limits dancing activity to 3 am. Casinos of all types would probably be the recipients. It would be grossly unfair to eliminate adjacent bars (Landing, 1st Street St. Charles, et al). But, it will probably be up to the cities themselves to set boundries. Likely, the Landing and Lemay would be a go. St. Charles is already having problems with bars on First Street, so I doubt the extension would be granted there.

Earliest is 6 a.m. When the Bob and Tom show broadcast from the Pageant, their broadcast was from 5 a.m. til 9 a.m. They incorporated a virtual 1 hour count-down before Bob could take his first drink on the show at 6 a.m.

^I wish they would have kept the Fish Market, that place had great seafood - in a city where that is very difficult to find. Anyway, does St. Louis really need it's 2,137th Italian "ristorante"?

SLeeK Ultralounge

When the sun goes down, SLeeK heats up. Stealth plasma-screen televisions above a liquor library, a variety of booths and seating, and guest DJs ensure no two experiences at SLeeK are ever the same. It’s a den of sexy vibes, and sexy people with a seductive draw. A signature menu offering a mix of food and cocktails designed by Hubert Keller, private booths and refined décor set SLeeK apart from ordinary St. Louis nightlife.

GLOBAR

Located in the center of the action, Globar is the perfect place to meet up with old friends or pick up some new ones. Order a cocktail from the Ladies and Gents of Lumiere off of Globar’s menu of signature drinks and relax in the elevated, circular area or grab it to go and get back to the slots.

AQUA

The perfect place, with its decidedly chic intimate setting and atmosphere, for a night of romance or a night of debauchery. Or both. Martinis with a twist and whiskey straight up are the order of the day, or night, at Aqua. Modern and sophisticated in décor and atmosphere, a piano helps set the mood while the Ladies and Gents of Lumiere serve the cocktails.

Also, being a smoking casino, it has been conspicuously absent of smoke everytime I have been there. The poker room is smoke-free (AWESOME!) and the rest of the casino seems to have fairly clean air as well. Deffinitely a plus.

The smell entering the casino isnt that bad, much better than Harrahs. But like always sitting next to the smokers at the tables are always horrible. And no matter where you are, and you leave for the night, you smell like sh*t. (aka smokey)

Offensive, CS. Equating gay with lame is not just politically incorrect. It’s just incorrect and bigoted. We gays can be quite cool and are often fully physically and mentally sturdy.

1) Is Sleek open yet? When I reported "after the first of the year," I was being purposely vague, because they seemed to be inferring that it might be late winter/early spring.

2) The Four Seasons is the hotel, and it will have numerous separate properties, including a signature restaurant called Cielo -- again, as far as I know, not open yet.

When I was there this last weekend they looked to be a few weeks away from finishing. But they must be hustling because when I was there on Sunday afternoon there were a fair number of construction workers in there.

matt, didn't you know that macho straight dudes aren't allowed to be considerate of others? they have to say "gay" and "fag" and talk about sluts and football and sh*t like that 'cause they don't want other macho dudes to call them pussies.
