Hi everyone, this is my first post. I really don't know much about anything but I would love to move to St.Louis once I get out of high school and graduate college.

Anyways, has anyone seen the new virtual tour of Ballpark Village on Cordish's website, it doesn't look like anything new, but whatever.

Well, assuming that you are a freshman, that you will pursue a bachelor's and not an associate's degree in college, and that this isn't some online university we are talking about...then, there is a slight chance Ballpark Village will have broken ground by then. :)

Anyone know if there are any upcoming public meetings, presentations or anything of the sort concerning Ballpark Village or is everything pretty much done except for the release of new plans integrating Centene into the development?

Any information would be helpful as I may write on a paper on the project in a class. Thanks

I figured that I would take the liberty and render a pic of the new Centene tower in the skyline because Centene, and Cordish can't seem to get their act together. It is a rough idea but you get the picture.

Also I thought I would throw in the tower I know we would all really like to see

The Centene tower really would fill in the skyline nicely. Thanks for the pic!

I like it. Now maybe we should all get some shovels and start digging the foundation for them as well. Or maybe we should blow up DirectorsCut's photo onto a big posterboard and take it down to the site and put it on a stand with the words "Coming Soon" on the top of it. Why not, eh? It would make people in town feel better and maybe it would embarrass Centene and Cordish enough that they would actually get started on this thing.

^^^^Nice job. Not to nitpick, but isn't the Centene Tower like a block or so too far north?

^That's what I was thinking. It's not too far off, but looks like it would overlap a bit with the Hilton. Maybe they are closing another street for this. Looks good, though.

The skyline looks great with the tower on the first pic but on the second pic the tower looks out of place. ST.louis doesn,t need a 1000" tower a few more 600 ft towers would really improve the skyline a lot. Like if the proposed bottle district cold build one 550 ft or 615 ft tower and some low rise buildings around it plus the centene tower in the first pic tha lou"s skyline would be awesome. great pics.

Yeah its location is a little off. I just wanted to get an idea of what the tower will look like. I also agree that the second pic's tower would look out of place. I was having a little fun and I just wish a 1000' ft tower wouldn't have to look out of place in STL

Yeah I know what you mean but one day when we add a few 600 ft towers and then a 1000 ft tower might fit right in if it is in the right place. If you could you should play with it and see how it looks and then post it I would love to see how it looks.

I agree, we have plenty of 1000" towers already. :P

1000" sounds so much more impressive than 84'-4"

I'm not against supertalls but I honestly do not think it would look right in St. Louis unless we did get more density and height, but I also think it should be a considerable distance from the arch. Right behind the arch might look ridiculous.

St. Louis doesn't really need height at the moment. We should be much more concerned about producing density and diversity.

I agree completely. Increase density in general, and the demand for greater vertical density will inevitably grow. 8)

You can tell nothing has happened on this thread for a LONG time because were back on the ol' height vs. density discussion....

The way I see it, the current height of BPV/Centene is -15' or so... Have been out to measure the depth of the pond....

Only 985' to go to create the world's deepest building at 1000', er public building anyway. :)

is centene wanting to put their building in BPV slowing the project down or is it the housing market or both?

^ I think you'll find the answer to your question on page 191... The housing market little if any effect on the slowdown.

I wish Slay, Centene, Cordish or who ever would give us some type of update. Some sort of idea of where they are currently. I hate waiting month after month just to hear new announcements of a postponed groundbreakings. I don't want to know details just an idea of what they are currently doing.
