I believe it is Grand to Broadway (or further?), I don't think it's going all the way back to Vandeventer but hope I'm wrong

Looks like it's actually protected one way lanes on either side of the street. These will run between 39th Street and Broadway. Still excellent to see.

Hopefully at some point they can add a lane or lanes to the bridge between Vandeventer and 29th street. It would be great to connect the Choutaeu lanes with the Tower Grove Connector at Sarah.

Protected two way bike lane is finally being installed on the north side of Choutaeu. Very important stretch for the bike network, it's a very useful street.

Dallas I have come to learn as it being my new home has miles and miles of six lane streets just begging to have separate dedicated bike lines added to the mix..  Seems like such easy low hanging fruit.   

But the other thought outside if bicycles that comes to me is how much money would county and city save in maintenance & replacement if trucks can be taken off these lane miles that won't take away any access.  Not too mention less accident as some of these speedway are taken away.

I was thinking the same thing.  The portions of the streets that become bicycle/pedestrian lanes shouldn't need the thickness of concrete forever required for trucks.  Should reduce cost in the long run.

Plus a well built protected bike path (IE the Tower Grove Connector) has a lifespan of 30+ years. Even a simple paved route lasts 10+ before starting to get ratty and bumpy

Another reason I’d love to see them take cars from the Eads Bridge. Want that beautiful thing to last forever

I am extremely disappointed with the Vandeventer section of the Tower Grove connector. The lack of trees is very frustrating especially when you see the number of them planted in the other sections. It's a missed opportunity to soften that stretch of street.

I'm happy for the extension generally, but I had the exact same thought riding it the other day. The lack of trees/landscaping is disappointing.

The Vandavanter section isn't even close to done yet.

There will be trees incrementally along the Vandeventer stretch, as evidenced by the plan here. I just rode it friday, I can see the basins where they will be able to plant trees. Things take time. Give it a little more! This stretch technically is not open yet...

A big part of the Vandy stretch is going to be real estate development in the next three years. Developers will have opportunity to reimagine the streetscape more than actual connector project.

Chouteau is about to become a lot of riders preferred EW connection. 

Is the concrete poured right on top of the asphalt?  That's not going to last very long.

^I very much suspect they're about to do the same thing on "Southerer Grand." (My own nickname for Grand south of South Grand, since, well, I live there.) I think that's what they did through Dutchtown on Grand as well, actually. It may not be perfect, but it sure beats the heck out of not having curbs and islands at all. I'm quite looking forward to the complete installation of traffic calming along my chunk of Grand. What they're doing on Choteau looks nice.

Placing concrete on top of the asphalt is quite common for islands and curbs like this. A typical detail will have pins drilled and epoxied into the asphalt surface to hold the concrete in place.

Does St. Louis have any rules in place concerning e-bikes? Probably should get a handle on it right now. It's increasingly becoming a huge issue elsewhere. Many of the "bikes" are not just a little "pedal assist". They are essentially motorcycles, no pedaling required. I actually broke down rented a bike with a touch of pedal assist for the first time in San Francisco. I noted my planned route and the guy and bike shop said "dude, if that's your route, I know you want to be hardcore and pedal but I'm telling you, you really should get the pedal assist". He was right. That remains the only time I have ridden something other than a real bicycle.
I was in Pinellas county FL recently. Possibly the most dangerous place for pedestrians in America. There are so many souped up "e-bikes" and scooters zipping around at 30 mph that it's insane. I was on a regular bike.

St. Louis better a get a handle on this now.

Oh yes STL government needs to waste time t( "get a handle" on....bikes. Maybe we should get a handle on death machines first?

I'm against the death machines! Also, I'm not talking about getting a handle on bikes. I'm talking about getting a handle on motorcycles in the bike lane.

I get what you're saying, but the e-bike problem in those cities with their density and all of the delivery e-bikes is way different than what we have here.
