I would absolutely love that, used to shop a lot at Lidl back in Europe.
Yeah, as much as I'd like to see a downtown Aldi, a 16,000sf space with no parking works much better for a CVS/Walgreens or an urban format Target than a grocery store. The location is just about ideal as well.Laife Fulk wrote: ↑Mar 18, 2021With their next closest stores being in Atlanta, there's zero distribution network to support stores in Missouri. IMO, this spot would be best serve as a CVS or Walgreens.
I doubt they actually have an LOI yet, or are even that sure it will be a grocer. It's just a blurb on a contractor's website. Construction contractors aren't really known for their perspicuity.

I think most people have forgotten about this downtown project but it’s well underway
$46m rehab of City Place that will turn it into 160 apartments, 190 hotel rooms and 94 time share units with a 16,000 SF grocery store

Yeah, it's a large national chain. Diamond Resorts. Apparently they think high enough of the Arch and Cardinals to run their model here. I've used their properties in Virginia and Florida (as a hotel not a timeshare). Pretty decent company I'd say.

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Nov 30, 2021"For a timeshare company"

Any updates on this one? Looking at moving to Mansion House or Gentry's next year.

Do gentrys. Have a friend that lives there and enjoys it quite a bit.Suds wrote:Any updates on this one? Looking at moving to Mansion House or Gentry's next year.
Thanks, I've been hearing good things about them specifically. Though I do wish they'd revamp the exterior some.
(since I'm no longer in town but Mansion House is dear to my heart) Any updates on this? Any visible clues to what the quality of this project will be?

City place project doesn't appear to be active. I don't see any people around the site. It's still blocked off, they could be all inside but it just seems inactive

Has there been any movement in the nearly two months since the last update?
Is there an update on the City Place Tower rehab? Haven’t seen any movement in a while.

City Place looks all but abandoned. Some new graffiti is up on the south side of the tower. Seems like the coffers have run dry, maybe awhile ago?
Yeah there hasn't been any movement for the better part of a year.stlnative wrote:City Place looks all but abandoned. Some new graffiti is up on the south side of the tower. Seems like the coffers have run dry, maybe awhile ago?

The land lease is onerous and the shared parking garage between the buildings creates all sorts of financing problems. Expensive rehab and can't charge premium rents. A lot of high hurdles on this one.
Been wondering what progress was being made.
Pity.
Those buildings are great!

$169 million renovation for the Mansion House apartments.

I was thinking this was for all three towers. $169 million to rehab just one tower seems crazy.
