Honored for what ?
More important than honoring how about making this a big strong teaching message for others regarding the consequences of taking a car (breaking the law ) loading up your your companions in it and subsequently speeding down a hill that resulted in crashing into a house and killing everyone

When I was a school teacher in Jacksonville, FL years ago. I had a similar situation happen with 3 young men around the same age.

Not that it matters or makes me important, but this is right around the corner from my house. We walk past this house frequently on our way to the neighborhood park. Highway Patrol asked my neighbor for their security cam footage. The vehicle went straight off the road, didn't look like it even tried to make the turn. Depressing scene on the block today.

It's kind of useless to try to measure "best" and "worst" drivers based on citations, DUIs, etc. as well as any other measures that depend on a completely different variable (the level of traffic enforcement). I am sure St. Louis ranks well in that measure since there is basically no enforcement of traffic laws.

This was the only thread I thought this would fit. But a cop crashed his car into Bar:PM, an LGBTQ establishment, and then arrested the owner without bail. This all seems super shady, and I'm hoping for repercussions.

Whenever I feel myself drifting towards the shoulder where cars are parked it usually ends up with me over correcting so much that I run into a building. IF this story is true they had to be going at some insane speed.

Cops are working really long hours and are probably tired and irritable. Same probably could be said about the bar owner. I feel like this could of been worked out a lot easier if it didn’t happen at 1 in the morning and everyone was in a more amicable mood. Instead the cops fabricated a story and now this is a big mess.

I think the security footage, of both the crash and inside situation, will shed light on everything.

Seems a poor move for the police to start demanding ID instead of asking if everyone is okay...

It’s possible they could have. Seems like the cops couldn’t handle being yelled at and things went downhill from there.

With at least 3 cops involved should be lots of body cam and dashcam footage. If they didn't turn it on these charges will be thrown out.

Channel 4 has video from another business. They also mentioned reduced charges and a question about whether the cop was breathalized at the time of accident, which apparently is protocol.

Based on what I have seen so far:
1) The officer was clearly driving recklessly and needs to be reprimanded
2) The response from the police/city has been less than helpful
3) We need to see to some body cam footage before we judge the response of the bar owner.

I'm really wanting to hear an explanation from the police about the one arrested owner going South Precinct > SLU Hospital > North Precinct > Central Booking.

Plus why was a push worthy of a felony charge and a no bond hold?

From KMOV: Exclusive video shows aftermath of police cruiser crash into Bar:PM

Soon after the video begins, you can see James Pence, Chad’s partner, angrily speak with officers, who ask Pence for identification.
“You cannot card me,” Pence is heard saying.
The officer then handcuffed and detained Pence for apparently yelling at police.
“He’s not going to yell at me, that’s causing a disturbance,” said an officer.
Then, a few minutes later, Morris comes outside and appears furious that his partner has been detained and questions police on why the driver of the police vehicle wasn’t detained as well.
“Who is the driver? Then why are you not in handcuffs,” said Morris.
Eventually, Morris disappears from the frame until you can see him come back with handcuffs on.
“Yeah, look at us, look at me, all cause this motherf***** crashed into my building,” said Morris while seemingly confronting an officer.
Then, police slam him on the hood of a police vehicle and eventually get him inside the cruiser.

The bar owner was (rightly) pissed, and cops decided they needed to pull the "respect mah authoritah!" card because he yelled at them after they, y'know, DROVE INTO HIS BUILDING.

I realize Broadway (both N and S) have been and are the common mans raceway but these are police officers driving real fast with no siren/lights on Where was the emergency or were they continuing the tradition of "drive fast on Broadway"?
