I went through there Friday evening. I usually take the train. A reminder of how dangerous driving is.

Banging my head against wall. Why do we see such incidents? I really hope no "bystander" was hurt.quincunx wrote: ↑May 11, 2023Stltoday - Driver sped 100 mph before St. Louis crash that killed 1, injured 5, charges say

While I understand why you post these, sometimes you are worse than local news...

Agreed. Do we have to post every single link to every single story? I get that you're trying to drive home the point, but UrbanSTL isn't exactly the site where people need convincing. Maybe it would be better just to archive this thread, start a new one, and then update the first post with stats/stories? At least in the Crime thread there's discussions regarding stories that are posted - and even then not every single crime story gets posted.
Do we have to post every single link to every single story? Is this not spam? Where is that spam patrol person that is on this forum??
Sorry, there's been a lot of CARnage out there lately. You can always ignore the thread, I suppose.

I'm inclined to agree with sc4 and qc. The whole point to this thread is to illustrate the problem and encourage us to address it. Think of it as a transportation crimes thread. Does any murder go unreported on the crime thread? Not every crash gets reported here, just the most serious ones. It's only spam if it's not materially important, and this has a heck of a body count. I'd say that's important. Might be our single biggest safety issue.
I don't see a problem; if the thread doesn't interest you, just skip it.

Predictable. And likely a costly slam dunk settlement for the Edmundson family courtesy of Gardner's well documented ineptitude.
Not sure why the other driver is involved.

For a sampling (since it's only state roads) of crashes in the region search "@StLouisTraffic crash" on Twitter. Not much detail, but it tells you how much carnage is out there.

The other driver is involved because they were driving recklessly as well, and because they were driving on a suspended license.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jun 22, 2023Predictable. And likely a costly slam dunk settlement for the Edmundson family courtesy of Gardner's well documented ineptitude.

Glad we gave this industry a big gift via the I70 rebuild and widening subsidy.
