Was able to get a peak at these. Modern and brick clad. Build to the sidewalk with a couple buildings in the back as well. Hope they get the variances they are looking for.

An old listing on Loopnet has this multi-family building. I doubt this is it if it's now townhouses.

Are you sure of the $2 million amount and/or the address? It's hard to image a $2 million investment in the existing home nor would a demolition likely to be allowed on that block.

There could be a typo of course. Once there was a $20B deck.

4308 Laclede sure seems to be constructed oddly. Can someone with experience comment?

^ That's actually the finished product. The architectural style is called Surreal Brutalism. Characteristics include exposed framing and insulation, unfinished floors, and no glass in the windows. It's very surreal to experience nature's brutal elements in an upscale neighborhood. Hence the name.

The type of technique used  to construct this building is noted below. Such builds are noted to be energy efficient and structurally sound. I've seen the drawings of this project. Very curious to see the finished product. The owner is spending over $900K ($140K lot purchase and >$750K on construction) to develop this building. Hoping it turns out well.

Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) is a type of wall building material used in home building. It's an alternative to traditional wood-frame housing. Instead of framing the walls with studs, the walls are formed by styrofoam blocks, and the concrete is poured into those forms.

^I apologize. I thought this was a half-finished restoration of an existing structure that had run out of money. Thank you Ikazy1. That does actually sound like a very good idea. I think I may have seen a smaller example under construction once in the burbs many many years ago, but it was much simpler and went up fairly quickly.

Not sure if this is the right thread but I saw that Mills Properties has renamed the Towne House Apartments at Newstead & Lindell "The View at Forest Park." I think it's really stupid, I don't know who they're trying to fool, maybe out of towners moving to St. Louis without time to tour ahead of time?

A shame because I loved the Towne House Apartments sign over the canopy.

Union Electric, aka Ameren, has purchased the southeast corner of Union and Delmar. What might they do with it? A substation? That would be disappointing.

What used to be here? A gas station?
