I would have thought they would want the parking closer to the head house, and just about any business including fast food would rather be at the corner of Chouteau and Compton. ^ Geo STL has some Denali LLC owning that corner parcel. The rest of the site is under control of an affiliate of St. Louis University.

Nah these things have a wild amount of people working for them. Probably 40 at a time and alot of these I would guess would be part time jobs/hourly. You’re thinking just 40 people are going to wait on 102 bays, bartend, cook, run the check in desk, the gift shop, etc? That seems like a super low number. Plus I’d imagine they have more than one shift.
There are a ton of these, they probably have a good idea of how many employees they expect to hire to operate.

If it helps for reference, I just recently attended an event at the Chesterfield location for a group of about 30. They had 2 bartenders, 2 food servers, a technician and a host dedicated to just us. If they dedicate 6 people to a small group I’d be willing to say there’s minimum 60 staff in the building at all times. When I walked through the door there were 4 people just at the welcome desk.

For a 102 bay facility if all are open you can have a max of 612 players and let’s say each bay has 2 people that are there but don’t play for a total of 816, which means they probably have a staff of about 120-150 at any given time, the kitchen alone probably has 15-20
Block over from what I realized. I’ll drive by it dropping off and picking my kid up from school. Will be fun to watch its progress.

My daughter works at a Top Golf in Augusta, Georgia…a smaller venue but I hear stories of staff per group…
As db said 120-150 per day/shift. My daughter works 4-5 days a week, open to dinner. Yeah, 400 to cover 7 days/2 shifts is totally plausible.
Your graphic was used in the KSDK story tonight. Some neighbors are concerned about traffic and displacement. I think those are both reasonable concerns and definitely not NIMBY-esque. They didn't say it shouldn't be built, just that they hope they procedures are put in place to prevent increased traffic incidents and displacement of longtime residents. This is a pretty weird location for a TopGolf. While that area on Chouteau is very industrial, one block south and you're in a completely residential neighborhood. I've been to the TopGolf in Birmingham a lot (also an urban TopGolf), and the traffic from it really spills out into the surrounding area and people end up parking on the street blocks away because these parking lots are never big enough. This definitely has the potential to drastically change The Gate – that doesn't mean people want vacancy, they just want their concerns to be met too.
Looks to me that there is loads of street parking nearby not in front of anyone's residence. Also every homeowner has their own land to park their own car on.

I wasn't thinking along the lines of multiple shifts and i was assuming this was more of a Friday Sat evening business so i likely way undershot. I probably have always underestimated the back of house staffing for service industry venues anyway since i have never worked that personally and i haven't been to the chesterfield location either to see how it works either. So based on the feedback I'll assent to the 400 figure.
Even if they are mostly lower wage part-time jobs, 400 is a solid gain.
