You get drunk and putt a golf ball around. They are all the same.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Apr 25, 2022There are many iterations of this concept. The Puttery, which is a high-end and heavily themed version. And Puttshack, which is more like laser bowling or discotek, IMO - arcade themed with club like bar setting.
Since we are already getting a Puttshack I won't complain, but I think Puttery is the best of the bunch.

Love condescending over simplification. You'd be a hell of a movie critic.
With the obvious difference between Puttshack/Puttery and PopStroke being the former are located indoors while the latter is outdoors.
And, when you consider that PopStroke only seems to build in warm, year-round golf weather cities, it seems a bit of a stretch to think they would be eyeing the STL market.
Will Mike Newall provide additional context to his post? I'm not holding my breath...

Anyone know of a timeline for this project? Curious on when they plan on opening.
I think this is going to be an absolute hit.

Nothing is truly public yet so it's hard to say. Plus there's the challenge of construction labor and materials.pdm_ad wrote: ↑Jul 26, 2022Anyone know of a timeline for this project? Curious on when they plan on opening.

My guess: summer 2023.

Yeah, I really expect this is going to be a great thing for the Midtown neighborhood and city as a whole.
I think it's probably going to result in more entertainment for the area. Are there many urban Dave & Busters?

There was one in Chicago on N. Clark but it closed. Times Square New York and San Antonio by the Riverwalk are the only ones I've seen.RockChalkSTL wrote: ↑Jul 26, 2022Yeah, I really expect this is going to be a great thing for the Midtown neighborhood and city as a whole.

I think the city could handle a Main Event type of venue along the Chouteau corridor.
Dave & Busters bought Main Event.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Jul 26, 2022I think the city could handle a Main Event type of venue along the Chouteau corridor.

To me, things like Dave and Busters and Main Event deserve to remain in the suburbs. TopGolf does too, but it’ll bring thousands to this part of the city. The other things are just gimmicks that the City Foundry and Armory will have in some form or another, just likely better.

^true. Thats a good assessment overall. To defend my statement I'd point out that I said could and not should. It will be nice to see Foundry full.

There is an excavator and piles of dirt on the site today
St. Louis gives Topgolf in Midtown a building permit, investment revealed

Nervous that we don’t have a site plan or rendering yet. It’s going to be an enormous presence.

^Even without many buildings by it, Topgolf is huge coming down into the valley. I'm excited to see how big this will feel off of Chouteau. Should have a good view off the tees too!
Demolition has started and the construction trailer is flying a Topgolf flag. The project looks to be in full swing *no pun intended
There is also a Top Golf wrap along the fencing on Chouteau, saw it today but didn't get a pic.
