Despite the current lack of activity and the past delays at B&B's new Hampton location, co-owner Bob Brazell recently told me he was now "shooting for spring." https://www.stlmag.com/dining/st-louis- ... ming-soon/

Given the pandemic I don't see a reason to rush. So good news they plan to move forward.

I know it's a chain and that chain restaurants are horrible, but this is a good sign for the CWE.

Great news. Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed Byrd & Barrel when they were on Jefferson. I'll probably go to their Hampton location every once in a while. Excited to see what they do with that space.

Walked by Caleco's Bar and Grill downtown yesterday and the space is being built out for a bank branch location.  So I'm guessing they closed shop permanently unless someone else knows if they relocated?

Sucks to see two longtime downtown restaurants close.  The downtown Charlie Gitto's closed earlier in the pandemic so really losing a lot of classics.

Caleco's wasn't the best meal you'd ever have, but it was good, and the building was cool with all the memorabilia and they might have had the most extensive menu I'd ever seen.

For some reason I thought db said it was going to be a chase bank. Can’t remember for sure and I don’t have time to search back for it.

Calecos had boat load of debt. So they’re done for good and yes, it’s a first city chase bank branch.

Kind of an ugly expansion, but nice to see them fill in their tiny little parking lot.  Would be cool to give the new garage door the same arched look that the historic building has.

Good to see that they are sticking to that location in spite of all the craziness that happens in that area.

Yes! Even for someone with no background in architecture.....if you're continue the rhythm the garage door and the windows above......THEN CONTINUE WITH THE ARCHES!

Also, why is the height annoyingly similar but not the same?! The height of the facade is already fake! Just continue the lines of the roofs to MATCH! Weird stuff.

To me, it looks like a purposeful differentiation, but keeping in the same theme and working within a budget. Just a guess.

It would be nice if the height of the addition matched the line of corbelling on the existing building, it's so close. Otherwise while I don't think this will be an architectural masterpiece, I think sitting it off the existing building like they have and matching some of the massing it will look fine although I'm hoping the colors will look better in real life than in that rendering.

I’ve never been there, but I do enjoy their ciders…do they have outdoor seating, like a rooftop?

They do, well they did but that red thing is about to take it away. They sectioned off a half portion of the lot and put in benches with tables, lights etc.
although when it’s nice out the roller doors are open and it’s just like outside

It’s not a branch but Chase does have an ATM in the CWE Schnucks lot.

New downtown west addition. It’s in the back of Washington and 14th, it’s on Lucas (which is really an alley)

Where “up the street”? I only know the one at Arsenal and Gravois, and those are different streets.

It could be Imos is mandating a move to the new modern look and requiring drive thru windows.
