Is this the Harold's from Chicago that ex-Chicagoans have been excited about?

Pretty sure it is.

Or is it the Harold's Chicken at 1916 Union Blvd?

Any chance someone knows what I'm talking about?

No, their website says they're not.

Harold's Shrimp & Chicken is not affiliated with "The Original Harold's Chicken."

Isn't the old Byrd and Barrel on Jefferson near Chippewa?  The new location is on Hampton and still slated to open.

Yeah the old location was here.

You've been able to confirm the Hampton opening is still happening? That's good news if true, was afraid they'd be another permanent pandemic closure...

Despite the current lack of activity and the past delays at B&B's new Hampton location, co-owner Bob Brazell recently told me he was now "shooting for spring." https://www.stlmag.com/dining/st-louis- ... ming-soon/
See above link.  Was posted a few pages back.

My mistake, I was under the impression we were discussing the long empty spot on Hampton.

It has been up for a little over a month. No visible movement beyond that sign though.

Drunken Fish in at Power and Light in KC is closing for good. Probably not a good sign for the Drunken Fish at BPV that's been "temporarily closed" since March 2020

^ benefit we have locally is that the family is STL based and invested in the City (specifically the Landing)  but they may look to get out of KC and put their money behind the Landing/STL area, the just bought the Greenly building and are opening a Kimchi Guys and a Drunken Fish in Edwardsville

At 3:30 on this chilly Saturday downtown Sugarfire and High Pointe had lines out the door, Over/Under, Sen Thai, flamingo and Havanas were packed, meanwhile Pi Pizza and Gringo closed til spring…..why

Also the Crushed Velvet space next to Old wash Ave post appears to be another restaurant opening soon. Interesting design inside, it’s got flowers all over the walls and hanging from ceiling

^was down there and it looked like it was 90% people from the volleyball tournament at the Dome. Is it that busy down there ever weekend?

The sign on Pi says they're closed for the holidays, through mid-February. This weekend would've been a great one to reopen.

I never knew people celebrated Presidents' Day that much.

Well being that it is home to a national park, city museum and union station, yes it’s very busy and especially when the weather is nice

Permit was issued on 2/09 for a restaurant with patio seating and no liquor. Sometime the owner wants to open asap than get liquor license later

That’s a shame. Had a bad feeling when they put the signs up. At least the CWE location is nearby. Hopefully something fills that space quick.

The Loop was devastated by the pandemic. No students and no shows at the Pageant and Delmar Hall were very tough on Pi, I'd figure.

Is Gringo confirmed to be opening again soon or is that the same sign from last year?

Also, Havanas is great for anyone here who hasn't been yet. Definitely check it out.
