Quite annoying that underground parking will not be allowed. Would have been a better use of the land.

Is it possible that instead of being true underground parking that they will put the parking on the first floor or two? I doubt they are going to sell million dollar condos without secure building parking. Did it say in the artice what exactly they are doing with the parking?

The Roberts Bros. are saying that construction will begin in six months, after renovation of the Mayfair is complete.
^Not to be nitpicky, but the article says "within" six months. Hopefully, they will crack the ground on this baby sooner or at least within the said time frame.
On another note, I think the Robertses have their hands in a $hitload of projects and ventures. I don't know factually, but they probably don't have adequate support staff to keep up with all of the stuff they are doing. Certainly seems that way.

^ It makes me wonder if they're the hold-it-and-do-everything-ourselves type of developers, or the build-a-portfolio-and-sell-for-mega-millions type of developers.
I think they are the hold it type. But I know they don't have a big development staff like all the others in town, or even much of a staff to speak of, so they are slooooowwwwww.
Fall '06, huh? Let's get this sucker moving already... (I think it looks great)

I see everyone is coming by to kick the horse carcass.
Let me help:
Man, this is what we need. Euro-contemporary architecture an new residential construction. Wooot! Let me get my trowel!
Right.
Prediction:
SkyHouse breaks ground before this.

JCity,
I can't see any of your images. For some reason, Pbase must be blocked here.

Is there a "new" parking lot going in here? I walked by yesterday and it looked like something was being done. Nicer fencing surrounding a lot. Maybe it's only on half the property or something.
According to a Roberts representative, the ground will be cracking very soon. Work is currently being done at the site. They are planning a late 2008/early 2009 opening.
According to another representative I spoke to today, marketing will start next month. The project is a definite go. We'll see.
They just started hanging a super large banner that faces to the south on the backside of the Mayfair Hotel
I guess some marketing has already started.
The OPO plaza is supposed to start construction sometime this month.

Yeah, it's HUGE. Very, very exciting. Proves all of us doubting thomas's wrong.

^ And I never, never thought the Roberts' could hang a banner that big! The shame . . .
