Whatever it is, it's a bunch of garbage.
Actually, that doesn't bother me as much as that massive, blank wall which faces north.
This project is getting $10 million in TIF money. They should be forced to fix this mistake.
Nailed it.roger wyoming II wrote:Whatever it is, it's a bunch of garbage.
There is a sign on the building that says Whole Foods will open on May 25th. Finally!
On the other hand, I'm very concerned about what they plan to do with the Euclid side of the building. Right now there are no doors, the windows look to be frosted over, and there is the awful looking fenced off section as some have previously stated . Is it possible that they plan to leave it this way? It would be a huge disappointment if they did not use the Euclid street front at all. The artist rendering show tables, chairs and umbrellas out front.

The clock in the tower is functioning, and so far is keeping accurate time. I never could understand why these types of public clocks never seem to work right.
It's sometimes important to remember that not everything in the twenty-first century needs to be solely utilitarian. Obviously the clock is just an aesthetic flourish to add character to the building, but a lot of us chose to live in the City because of each block having more charm than a stretch of strip malls in Ballwin.Randy wrote:^ One might also ask what purpose they serve in 2016.

official grand opening was yesterday... tied to the Whole Foods open. 85% of the units already are leased apparently.
Whoa. What? Really? That's fantastic - especially considering the premium rents. Bodes well for the continued boom in the more premium western/Euclid section of the CWE.roger wyoming II wrote:85% of the units already are leased apparently.

^ that was from a tweet from Slay's pr guy. And, yeah, I think we'll see more luxury... this could be the time to pull the trigger on the Kingshighway/Lindell project.
Plenty of shoppers at Whole Foods today. Back in angled parking on West Pine. An attendant was helping people realize that. I suspect people are favoring the entrance to the garage off West Pine rather than the alley. Accessing Whole Foods for someone on wheels is going to be annoying. The ramp is way east on West Pine and you have to go through an obstacle course of dining tables. The dead space along Euclid is regrettable as is the noise from the air handlers there. The building is massive. Here's hoping the $10M TIF gets paid off quickly.

No idea, 700sq ft 1br is $1600, 2bd $2800. Most 3rd are $4000-4400.
Premium 3rd is $5165

^In my business, I work with many comfortable/well-to-do clients. A surprising number of them have recently sold their large, single-family homes and moved into urban high-rises. It seems to be a serious trend, especially as they get older. They want an active lifestyle, with the freedom to travel, without the burdens of home maintenance.
I know it sounds like ad copy or a cliche, but I've been seeing it first hand.

Those tacked on street level structures still piss me off. They pulled a fast one with those.
Every time I walk past this I get pissed. Who the hell let this sh*t slide?quincunx wrote:
