Awesome - that is great to hear. (BTW, I didn't mean to downplay this as "just" the Dillard's Building; I just wanted to clarify whether St. Louis Centre itself was part of the plans)

Speaking of St. Louis Center, with moderate internal work, it could be a temporary annex for the St. Louis Art Museum. It is very well lit and it would be a classy thing for tourists and downtown workers right across from the convention center, rather than an eyesore.

Since the St. Louis Art Museum is putting its planned attached annex on hold, and it says it needs more space to display its extensive exhibit, it could be a win win. It would be a nice enticement to get visitors to want to find transportation out to the main museum.

Glasgow did something similar with an old building right in the middle of downtown, and now it is one of Great Britain's most visited museums.

^Ain't gonna happen. The SLAM has made it quite clear on numerous occasions that they are not interested.

what is the story with the old mall? the mercantile library building? are they for sale? auction? will Stacie Hasty and his group of owners sell One City Centre? how they even run that building with ONE tenant is fascinating to me.

Yeah, the topic came up when plans were being made to renovate the Old Post Office and SLAM pooh-poohed the idea.
