Surely these aren't the first two-story townhouse apartments built in STL. I don't know why the developers would claim that.
It sure sounds like it. In New York they are common and called duplex or triplex depending on how many floors the unit is.framer wrote: ↑Apr 03, 2023Surely these aren't the first two-story townhouse apartments built in STL. I don't know why the developers would claim that.

Even if they aren't, its a nice marketing pitch to differentiate the offering while invoking the "NYC".
^ Yeah, 2200 is solid and welcome from a density perspective, but I really dig the homes. Anyone know when the rest of it might get going?

^ I believe the plan for the rest of the site is dead and the property up for sale. (Not including 2300 LaSalle/Lagossian which has a building permit issued and is different ownership.)

The apartment building is 63% occupied (81 of 128 units). Not sure when they began moving people in but seems like leasing is going well.

A webpage has been posted for the Lagosian. Rent starts at $3000 per month.

2200 LaSalle is 105 of 128 leased. 85% is not a bad place to be after less than a year of opening. Generally goal is 90% in first 12-18 months

I have not heard much on here about the construction starting at 2300 La Salle - just west of this property. They have an elevator shaft going up, with I think 5 doors at present.

We've worked a bit on proposals for the NW corner of Chouteau and Jefferson. The bldg owner wants to lease it, but won't make any improvements for potential tenants.
In the spring, there was a proposal for a local company's catering HQ to relocate here.

Is Butlers Pantry still planning on moving ?dylank wrote: ↑Dec 22, 2024We've worked a bit on proposals for the NW corner of Chouteau and Jefferson. The bldg owner wants to lease it, but won't make any improvements for potential tenants.

That was the plan, but the owner won't meet them halfway with improvements. The build-out for what they want would be too costly for the biz owners.

I know I had a text from my neighborhood association about a meeting today for U-Haul storage facility at this location. They are trying to fight against this.
Are they going to testify at the Board of Adjustment meeting on Wednesday?
Needs to be rejected. Plenty of other locations for a U-Haul facility. Really should be housing, ideally TOD housing with an infill station at Jefferson but housing none the less.

I believe so. Wednesday 7/23 at 1:30 PMquincunx wrote: ↑Jul 23, 2025Are they going to testify at the Board of Adjustment meeting on Wednesday?
The lady defending this thing on the LS neighborhood facebook page and instagram is hilarious. Their boss positions themselves as a 'developer', but doesn't want to develop this parcel. If they just built 2200 Lasalle, why not just build another apartment building here with some commercial on the ground floor? Sounds like it worked well for them on Lasalle already.
Sounds basically like they want to milk it as a revenue stream and invest the bare minimum, historically, if they couldn't meet Butler's Pantry in the middle either.

Here is the thing, if yall can fight it, do it. BUT storage facilities don’t harm the land and they can be torn down rather quickly when/if the market can support a larger development.
I’d much rather STL urbanist fight the fast food restaurant on Kingshighway.

The Board of Adjustment voted unanimously to uphold the denial of the appeal.
