Welcome Kopper and katit. Kopper, I wondered if I'd ever end up seeing you on here. You really get around.

Edit: And welcome, Nigel!

I've been visiting the site for some time now, but I never responded to this.

So, what brings you here? Very interested in the development of the city.

What part of the STL are you from? Currently live in Soulard.

How old are you? 24

What do you do, or study? Opening a bar/restaurant - rBar - this summer.

(The Ultimate St Louis "Get to Know You" question) What High School did you go to ? That question pretty much means nothing to me, since I grew up in IL. I went to O'Fallon High School though, then got my degree from SLU in 2004.

Same as StlLady, I've been posting on this site for awhile now, just never bothered to post here.

What brings me here? My hopeless, nearly neurotic obsession with Saint Louis.

Born in raised in South St. Louis, St. Louis Hills specifically. Still living at home unfortunately, but I'm currently looking for an apartment.

I'm 24, a city employee by day, and law student by night. Went to St. Louis U High.

Welcome to all the recent newcomers!

(I think we need to have a forum meet at some point, for those who'd like to get to know their UrbanSTL peers better!)

StlLady, I just checked out the website! Great bar, great concept, great location!

And...you knew someone here would ask...when will it open?

Thank you, 314! I love hearing that people enjoy the concept! As for the location, I think the development in the "Grove" over the next year or so is going to be amazing.....

rBar will have some soft openings at the end of June, and the doors will open very soon after. Check back on the website (or just enter your info under rList) if you'd like to stay updated on progress and the Grand Opening.

I came upon this website in college while attempting to keep track of St Louis affairs over the net. In browsing I began to read and research STL's urban development and became obsessed with the projects and the lifestyle. Long time reader but just joined forum earlier in the year.

I was born and raised in Des Peres and my family is still there. I graduated in 2000 from St Louis U High. I went to college at Xavier Univsersity in Cincinnati.

Currently I am 24 and in medical school at the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo.....praying like heck that my next step of training can bring me back home in 2008.

(For those who have attended Cards games regularly in the past few years, I was the harmonica player with a small battery amp and STL suitcase at the corner of Broadway and Spruce)

Anytime! :D Once we are up and running, a forum happy hour at rBar sounds like an excellent idea.

Came here because of my interest in STL and thinking about moving there in a couple of years. I'm just deciding if it right for me.

Currently a college student.

22, (turn 23 in August)

Not from the area; in a different state; along a coast

I guess the other question doesn't matter.

Why am I here?

I'd have to think existentially for a moment to answer that question, I'll spare you the time and say I was kicked off Stltoday's web forums because I inquired too much and questioned the wisdom of some of the more conservative folk on the forums there, and found the site completely useless and more directed toward answering questions posted by the webmaster than participating in actual discussions.

What is my age?

1-100 would be my guess.

What is my favorite color?

Red, no Blue.........

Where am I from?

Bellfountain---La-dee-due---and now Kirkwood.

Highschool:

Hazelwood then Kirkwood for senior year.

I love the city though I rarely get the chance to visit going to a suburban prep school. I've been reading this forum for a couple months and love it but my knowledge of the city has been far too inferior to join so now necessity has caused me to join.

I'm 17 yrs old.

Hmm, I also have trouble deciding between red and blue.

Born at St. Mary's in Richmond Hts but have spent my entire life residing in none other than Town and Country.

Ah, of course, that is the ultimate St. Louis question. I go to priory, at 40 & mason.

When did favorite color get added as a question? :P I don't think I answered that one.

Anyway, mine would have to be green. But not that basic, St. Patrick's Day Irish-looking green. That's nasty. Probably a light green for dress shirts and clothing (matches my eyes), and then a darker, forest green for other stuff.

Hmm.. I also like light blue... and orange.. and...

I was trying to hint at the scene from Monty Python's classic quest for the Holy Grail....remember? The Gorge of Eternal Peril, the questions asked by the bridgekeeper? eh? eh?

Well, if your undecided on your colors, (in which case you'd of been hurled to your deaths into the pit), how about this one:

"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"

no, you'd be correct. , never seen the movie. fauxnews' post was the last one so it showed up directly under mine while i was writing it and one of the highlighted questions was what's your favorite color.

So, what brings you here? St. Louis is possibly where I'd like to live after college, and I will be living much, much closer to it starting in January (transferring to SEMO).

What part of the STL are you from? The extreme Southeastern corner---- okay, okay, I'm from Florida!

How old are you? 22

What do you do, or study? studying Historic Preservation

What High School did you go to ? You wouldn't know it.

Is it wrong of me to vacation in STL instead of the Keys?

Yes. It's sooo wrong!

^I chose St. Louis over the keys this summer.

OK, so I'm not going on a vacation this summer, but St. Louis wouldn't be a bad choice if I were.

Jacksonville

It's always nice to hear of others who've moved north from Florida, when so many more do the opposite. It's a beautiful state, but it's changing too much for me. Its population increased twofold in just the past 30 years (9 to 18 million). Who can get used to that?

18 million?

Gosh, is it catching up with Texas yet?

I saw that more seniors are not choosing to live in Florida from the Baby Boomer generation but the state is still number one for retirement.

I am glad to hear you are in historic preservation at SEMO.

I have a friend in Jacksonville. A really overrun city, IMO. It's set in a beautiful location, but it's just overrun with people right now.
