They have been at 25% for an awfully long time...when I checked with the sales center at like...the beggining of June I think, they gave me the same number. Not to speculate or give any negative numbers, just seems odd, as they appear to be doing at least moderately well.
^I guess the people that were going to jump on the train right away did so and those that are waiting around to see it come to fruitrition are waiting for something to happen. It appears that something is happening, so maybe the numbers will go up. It's a theory.

I think it's a great idea to use the space to host events and throw parties. There's something in there during the evenings about once a week. I live a block away and it's very welcoming to see people out and about on this stretch of Washington after work. It's great publicity and most likely draws people in to the sales office that normally wouldn't visit.

Summer is typically a slow time for downtown projects without units ready for immediate occupancy. I'm sure the task of converting reservations to contract has kept their sales staff pretty busy this summer. I would guess that the demolition of Ehrlich's will jump start their sales velocity a bit.

Just saw a banner ad for skyhouse on stlcardinals.com. looks like they are still going strong on their marketing campaign. First time I have seen an online ad for Skyhouse.

Me too...and I'm guessing that's one of the reasons they demolished it sooner than they had planned. Since demolition and clearance of the site were in progress during the loft tour, I figured it was one more signal to potential buyers that things are moving forward.

Some people had mentioned that the environmental clean up from drycleaners takes a while, which is why there will be the gap in time between the razing of the building and the start of construction. However...does anyone know for sure if Erlichs actualyl did any laundry there? Or did they take stuff offsite? Some cleaners certainly do that, but I wasn't sure about Erlichs...
^Well somebody must have because there are in fact drycleaning chemicals present in the soil on the site.
Looks like the site is all razed. There's only some brick left. I'm not sure if this is old news or not.
My husband and I were meeting with someone at St Louis Closet Company this morning and she mentioned that she had heard on Friday (apparently, she does a lot of business with us loft dwellers!) that Skyhouse was NOT going to happen. At this point, I am just passing along a rumor, but has anyone else heard anything about sales etc.? It would sort of be a pity is the existing building was torn down for nothing (though I admit the building was not the "prettiest").
I would have to doubt what she told you, but until the building is rising, it is certainly possible. I would think the sale center would be closed if that were the case. An official announcement is needed to know for sure. I won't blame the messenger.
Well, at least they tore down one of the older buildings left in downtown for their no tower. I think Skyhouse will still happen, but the age of being able to tear down a historic building and then change your mind about putting something up in its place should have ended decades ago.
/didn't end in St. Louis, still going strong.

I heard that they made some changes to their sales staff and are planning to close the sales center for 2-3 weeks for the holidays (since there are very few visitors anyway), but that the project is still alive and well and moving forward.

Whew! (...sigh of relief...)
I may not be in the market for The Skyhouse, but I desperately want to see this project complete.
I can't remember where I read this, but one of the free real estate guides I picked up said 25% of the units are officially off the market. Obviously, that number isn't quite enough for construction anytime really soon, but it appears to me that the project is still moving in the right direction overall.

I was told 25% in like the second week of JULY. Deffinitely not what I call moving in the right direction. The are obviously going to break the 1st of the new year deadline they had self-imposed for construction. Not to sound like a downer. This just seems to have done nothing in 6 months. On a lighter note, let's hope this "new sales staff" gets things moving.
I have no idea what the number is now, but one of those sales magazine things isn't necessarily going to be completely up to date. However, for all I know they may not have any additional sales. As long as they aren't losing any...

^ Yikes. I'd like to think that number's grown since July, but the real estate guide I read was from this month, and you'd think the developers would provide the most up-to-date information possible. Like you said, hopefully the new sales staff will get things moving forward after the first of the year.
They have put up a fence around the whole site including the empty lot next to the old dry cleaners. Not sure what this means, does anyone know if they are planning any further site prep any time soon?
Not sure what this means
It means they had a hole into which someone could have fallen from the sidewalk or the street. Now, they can't.
About time they put up a fence. That should have been done months ago.

Any signs, renderings, etc. on the fence? That would be an ok sign at least.
