I think the first instances of the metal panels will go up after the current tier (Tier 3) is completed with glass installation. I am now hearing that it will be aluminum but we will see.

Amazing that this building is now only 1/2 way up. If they stopped today it would already look sizable and have good massing for this stretch of Kingshighway.

Glass has started going in on the 2nd tier

Not sure what is up with the glass on the north side of the building.  There appears to be an opaque, nearly black vertical strip of glass on each corner of the first tier, and from the webcam I see it is now being installed on the second tier.

It clearly does not match the rest of the glass, and I can't imagine that was the original design intent.  It kind of looks like a last-minute change in order to hide some unanticipated something on the interior.

Because of the design, I am sure this building and its glass will look different on any given day. Intensity of sunlight, cloud cover, haze, rain, clear skies, distance from the structure, approach to the structure, interior window treatments etc. will impact what we see day-to-day.

It's almost like it's built to reflect the sky (and sunset) towards those on the street. Even the first tier is reflecting beautiful clouds every time I drive by. When this thing is full size it will be spectacular, exceeding my expectations so far,

What an incredible view.

And to think that it could eventually be altered, perhaps for the better, by another tower.

I agree. That shot is nice. This tower is going to be classy, iconic and befitting the Central West End. There needs to be more like it - especially downtown.

It's really reassuring to see something like this move from dream to reality. This is going to look spectacular. :) Heck, it already does.

From the webcam, yesterday at 7:26 AM:

Click on the pic 3x to zoom in to the left side of the first tier, you can see that vertical strip of opaque black glass that I mentioned earlier.  Both the northeast and northwest corners are the same (from the webcam, the NW corner becomes obvious in late afternoon, and both corners show up with an overcast sky).

That's just the way the sun hits the glass. I assure you it is the same glass as the rest of the building. I was not expecting this curtain wall based off renders, but it is a shape shifter of sorts and is going to make this building ever changing based on the angles and shadows. I am anxious to see the rest of the facade build out. It's early but all the signs are there of a truly signature building. Going to be hard to top moving forward. I hope developers take up the challenge.

You can tell those two stripes are a different shade of glass than everything else being used. The panes directly next to them are on the same plain and should be effected by the light similarly, but it's basically blacked out.

Not sure why. It'd help if there was a rendering of the north side, but that kind of adds to the suspense.

Well on closer inspection that may be correct. Zoom in of my above post:

Definitely could be a slightly different glass. It does appear so above. I will say up close in person it is extremely difficult to discern. If anyone else wants to take a look IRL and give an opinion I would be curious. I was convinced it was all the same glass as of yesterday being over there.

Maybe it has something to do with the 1BR corner apartment layout - as in too much window, not enough wall.  It might be difficult to find all of the necessary wall space in the corner units for entry, bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, closets, etc. with this floor plan, especially on the terrace levels:

These were taken earlier so the crane jump is completed. 4 sections were added to the crane. So I think that equals 80FT.
