^Yeah, but that's not in a Jeanne Gang designed tower directly overlooking Forest Park.

Thanks Pete. In that case I stand corrected. Would be great to see 24 stories on that southwest corner.

^^ That is going to look epic from many angles! Especially from Forest Park. It will tower over Steinberg.

Studying the latest rendering closely, I've noticed that the top floor of the first, third, and fifth tiers is actually taller than all the other floors. Also, the top two tiers have five floors each, while all the others have only four. The floor-height difference really shows up on this pic:

That may be, at least in part, intended to combat foreshortening. I haven't noticed it in person, but I am lead to understand various French cathedrals employ a very slight angle between the naive and choir in order to make the combined length appear greater. Whereas even much longer English cathedrals appear shorter, since they are completely straight, and what we might call the "telephoto" effect makes things appear closer to one another when they are at a distance from our vantage point. So this bit of visual tricker might actually make the building look more balanced from the usual viewing angles. Subtle tricks like that aren't apparently actually uncommon in your better architectural master works. Anyway . . . I am really liking the impact this is already having from Forest Park. It's going to look great! :)

The core has almost caught up to the boom of the crane. Time for a jump! The next one will take it over the top of the skyline for the rest of the CWE and make a whole lot more people notice this.

One more rendering. This one is of one of those tier terraces.

Also, Studio Gang updated their page for One Hundred. The height was changed to "over 380FT". It used to say 385FT. The construction status moved to "under construction". Not that big of a deal, but a notable detail.

^That photo has been flipped horizontally. Maybe the archies thought it looked better that way, but the Science Center, BJC and views down Kingshighway would be to the left/south in reality.

Still gorgeous.

Edit: Here's the corrected version:

I hate to clutter the forum with vapid expressions of glee, but holy cats that's going to be magnificent! So excited for this building.

In the BPV thread, I did a massing study of the master plan and @Framer had an interest in seeing the same thing done to the One Hundred with the addition of the envisioned Koplar Tower. Not my best work obviously, but it shows just how tall the One Hundred will be. To the left is a really ugly take on the Koplar Tower that was no more than a concept. I had it standing at 320 feet, just a bit taller than the Park Plaza building.

I'm hoping that Koplar's tower will be taller than 100, but I think it's pretty likely that it won't be.

^ Could see a smaller Koplar tower next to One Hundred and a stick on platform on the lot immediate to the east of One Hundred.   Don't see that as a bad outcome considering that a Koplar signature tower higher then One Hundred is very unlikely.   What would be ideal in my mind is somehow a Koplar tower breaks ground and is designed in such a way to add floors later on.

The construction cost to do such probably doesn't pencil out on the front end but it would cool to see what some ingenious architects and engineers could come up with, say a 300' foot tower that could to 400, 450 or even 500 at a later time.   A design that would compliment at 300 the Chase & One Hundred but also add some awe at a higher height.  Also gave St Louis a few mentions in national and world articles.

In the meantime, maybe the best to hope for is Koplar sells his lot to the current One Hundred Developers and or Bob Clark/Clayco group.  I don't know much about Koplar's but the impression is it is going to take a lot more then they are financial capable of or able to draw from Capital.

^^Totally OT and not that I necessarily think this is imminent or even better than a 50/50 shot, but the dynamics of the central corridor seem to point more strongly in the opposite direction as of the last ~15 years. The CWE keeps getting taller, hospital system keeps expanding, Cortex keeps booming, and new land around the park continues to not be created.

^The glass is turning out very well - not too reflective and not overly-tinted and / or colored, like BPV.  It's just right.

But, I really want to see the "articulated" panels.  Shirley, there must be a mock-up or two tucked away in a corner somewhere by now.

100%. That's going to make or break (well...this is a great addition regardless) the building.
