The building May's Place (4180 Manchester) was in has sold. Not sure if this also includes the Rise building?

I think the color of the new building's brick is tan, but not sure from the suboptimal image.
NextSTL - New Build, Rehab Planned for 4210 and 4216 Manchester in The Grove
https://nextstl.com/2022/06/new-build-r ... the-grove/
Great to see progress being made on infill, but it's weird to see new stuff being built on Manchester when there are still so many empty storefronts on the strip. Anybody know about plans to redevelop any of those?
I think what we're seeing is the demand for residences is greater than for storefronts. I'd expect with more residents comes more demand for the storefronts.
I want to say this is the first time Urban Chestnut has done the Octoberfest at the Grove location. I've been to their previous ones at the Washington Ave location.
I wish there were people congesting the streets of my neighborhood because they wanted to come to fun events so much.
They did it in the Grove last year as well.
Are street festivals like this not the reason one moves to the Grove?
Off topic, but I could see Crown Candy hosting some sort of event that draws people from all over to Old North. Maybe something around Easter that could tie into the other businesses on North 14th. Or have street fairs throughout the year. Old North and Hyde Park are making steady progress and the old notion is quickly dying.
Regarding complaints about the Grove: I’d love to live in a neighborhood where people come down for a fun event that I could walk to from a house or apartment. It’s one of the reasons why I’d choose to live in a neighborhood like the Grove. If I didn’t want something like that, I’d move into the suburbs or to a piece of farmland (perhaps that’s where the complaining person should go).
Wasn't the momentum of the grove started by literally gay bars and clubs for which the entire point is "alcohol, loud music and food"
Don't ever let this woman set foot in NYC then. She won't know what to do.
Wish they'd bring it back to Midtown.
I do worry they're putting that location on life support.

^ they could close it tomorrow for all we know but I think based on what’s coming to midtown they aren’t going anywhere

I can't imagine they'll close it. The owner and staff enjoy the place, and I think the owner, Florian, still hosts meetups there once a month or so. (And I expect they need the brewing capacity.) Covid put a snag in the works, and they might be having the same troubles as everyone else staffing back up. I have an acquaintance who works there. I'll ask about things on Tuesday if I see him. All that said, I too prefer the Midtown location. The Grove location is almost too loud and there's not enough outdoor space. I like both, mind. But I prefer Midtown.
Much prefer Midtown as well but kind of stopped going there due to unreliable food offerings.

With how that stretch of Midtown is going it would be a huge mistake to close shop at this stage in the game unless it's threatening the stability of the company. UCBC would be a great before show drinks spot for the new venue opening up across the street. Also the Big Top, still need to make it out to a show there.
I really think Midtown is struggling with staffing. IIRC I've
-gone there once during stated business hours and they were closed
-gone once and they were closing early because of staffing
And other times the outside bar is closed or running with only one person.
The Grove location is clearly their flagship and is humming along.
I still cant figure out why they don't engage an acoustics specialist and do something to improve the dull roar that can occur in the main room.
