Those counters are not a $2500 upgrade and nor are they granite. I'd just recommend you go take a tour of the display in person. Indeed its a great unit. Having went through the upgrade process at MOON, I would say 10k in upgrades in the ENTIRE unit is about right. Now that a unit is finished people will see what they missed out on!! But for a lucky a few there are 9 units still availible!! Dont wait to call and reserve!

^Thank you HBM and Tuskegee, for some reason loftlover just cannot comprehend that some upgrades are cheaper than others and that furniture is not included when you look at loft displays. They purposely chose lesser upgrades to create a more realistic display.

I never said furniture was included. No need to get personal... take a rectal valium . . .

Let's see if I can chime in here as I know the project and Loftworks pretty well. Tuskagee and UE have it mostly correct. As for appliances you get a GE Profile stainless steel dishwasher and a black faced GE Profile range/stove. Both are high end appliances and work great. The range/stove in the display is upgraded to stainless steel. With the credit for the standard range/stove the upgrade is only about $230.00

The countertops are Silestone. Honestly I am not sure how much they were but would bet they ran just over a couple of thousand. I did stainless steel on my island and Cambria Quartz on my counters and the total for both was about $3,700.

The tile in both bathrooms are standard. Think they came from American Olean and are ceramic. There were lots of great standard choices for tile.

Stainless undermount sink is a small upgrade of less than $100.

Cabinetry is standard.

You guys pretty much covered all else.

The Silestone in the kitchen is a Quartz product and prices out to be more than granite & is virtually maintance free. Visit www.silestone.com for further pruduct info. The dishwasher in the display is GE, Profile, but is an upgraded GE profile, the STD is still stainless. The stainless steel backsplash is about $1300 rather than $700. The master bathroom is upgraded to 3cm. granite w/an upgraded airjetted tub. The tile in the Mbath is STD, but the tile in the Gbath is an upgraded color. The cabinet hardware is $8 each, not $12.

What I saw in the display kitchen was Silestone. I was considering the Silestone Leather Series for my bathroom and it was much more expensive than my granite choices so I'm not surprised to hear the pricing. The pricing I got was $1700 for two 4 x 2 countertops. I'm not sure if that means you guys at the Moon Brothers would get a better deal based on volume but the $2500 pricing did not seem shocking to me.

PostMay 19, 2006#158

Exactly what appliances are included? Kelli told me no refrigerator was included, you either needed to buy one at an additional cost from Loftworks or bring your own. Does anyone know how much that is and what other appliances are or are not included? I saw the comments about the stove and dishwasher. Is that all that comes with the unit at no additional cost? Microwave? Washer/dryer?

Interesting. So assuming a total cost of 3800 for the Silestone(Quartz):

3800 Quartz

1300 Backsplash

700 Basin

200 Handles

1000 Closet shelves(not sure on this)

500 Desk

500 Upgrades faucets

700 Tile Upgrade(from my upgrade sheet cost to get level 3 tile)

______________________

8700 Total

That leaves 1.3k for things I have fogotten to add to this total/miss-priced. I think this shows conclusively that there are around 10k total upgrades in the display unit. Thanks for the info Kelli and/or Jessica.

[EDIT] Suck on that total loftlover since we want to play the "go back and make unlabled edits after responses have been made" game. If you ever had any credibity, I'd say yours was shot for pulling that alone. My low estimate of $2000 in the kitchen due to mis-pricing the counters is still a lot closer than you estimate of 10k in the kitchen, and my overall estamte of 10k still stands and others agree with it. Next time visit the loft before you appraise it.

Included appliances are GE Profile SS dishwasher and GE Profile electric stove/range (these are excellent appliances as I had them both at Printers and they worked great. Washer and dryer, microwave and refrigerator are on you. Of course you can buy all non-included appliances through the developer but you will be able to find better deals elsewhere and have them delivered after you close.

Again, if you include the fridge (which I'm sure is on the Loftworks upgrade list as is custom paint, I'm sure "furniture" is not) we're a whole lot closer to my estimate than yours. What was your original estimate (the one you edited after I had posted a response) 1600 or 1800? You best do your homework before you try and discredit!

I have no interest in arguing about the cost of this loft anymore. People can read the info and form their own opinion and I consider the matter closed.

However, I did not edit any of my posts after you made a response. Look at you the post you edited after three responses are posted "Last edited by loftlover on Fri May 19, 2006 4:15 pm; edited 1 time in total" your timestamp shows an edit was made after three people had replied, and that's shady.

You will find no such stamps on any of my posts where I made the original 2k estimte, because I made so edits after any responses, unlike you. Go look for yourself. In fact when I made my estimate at 11:02 am yesterday, two more posts followed after that at 12:04pm and 12:18pm before you even responded at 12:44pm. And then when you quoted me in your response, it shows my 2k estimate inside your own quote. You've got to stop saying things that aren't true.

Gorgeous!

I definitely see much space to build on from parking lots to abandoned lots. It is doubly strange how in the last picture abandoned St. Liborious, tumultuous St. Stanislaus Kostka (Go Polish-Catholics!), and the mixed income developed Murphy area is in close proximity. In other words, redeveloping the northside as a tangent from the West Loft District is very possible. Imagine how the northside Metrolink may change that area?

Anyone know why Moon wasn't included on the tour? I haven't made it over there to check out the display adn was hoping to see it. Or maybe it was open and I'm just an idiot.

They were not on the tour and think it was because A) they only have about 5 or 6 units remaining and B) the building is under fairly heavy construction and does not set up well, for the moment, to bring hoards of people through.

Looks like in addition to the rooftop deck and the one year gym memberships Moon is getting another amenity. I hear Moon will have a dog run that will be fenced in and run the length of the parking garage on the west side. No idea of particulars but those with dogs should be very happy. Now if the weather is not coopoerating or you just don't feel like venturing out, you all will have a nice and convenient area for your dogs to stretch their legs.

What is a dog run? An enclosed building for dogs to run arond in? Or is it exposed to the elements? Is it brick? Concrete? As long as it's walled of so I don't step in sh!t, I guess it's an ok ammenity.

Like I said, do not know all the particulars, but as best I can tell, it is not an enclosed building (not that LW does not love dogs but don't think they would shell out construction costs for a brick or concrete building to only let dogs run through).

I'm thinking it will be an area that is exposed to the outside, yet fenced in and secure and only accesible probably through the west side of the parking garage. You will probably not even know it is there as it is kind of hidden from everything else. Next time you are over there look at the space between the garage and the building right to the west. That is where the dog run will be. And you will not have to worry about stepping in anything as you can see it is out of the way.

Just FYI, here are a couple of progress pics showing the first floor of the garage (which has just been poured), the entry way which is coming together nicely (pay attention to the bank of windows on the left side as those will display the building mechanicals. Very cool!), and the last picture shows where the dog run will be.

I do hope they are going to pour concrete or put bollards around those columns in the parking garage...
