Looks like the display is going to be finished next week and it's grand opening will be May 3rd from 5-7pm at the Moon Bros building. I think it is for buyers and maybe prospective buyers, so if you're not already a buyer and are interested, call Kelli. There will be food and drink, and the event as a whole I believe will be similar to Syndicate's grand opening party. Also I believe, since I'm taking one, that walkthroughs will be available this night as well. Projected closings for the Floors are a follows:

Floors 1&2: Late June

Floor 3: Late July/Early August

Floor 4: Early Septemer (YES!!!!)

Floor 5: Early October

This is of course barring unforseen circumstances.

May 3rd no more, grand opening Canceled :(. SLight hick-up in getting the cabintry in for the displays, as of now this shouldnt pose any threat to the current delivery schedule. The grand opening will be rescheduled accordingly.

Yep, looks like the shippers/HBD made an error:

LoftWorks wrote:we learned yesterday from HBD that there was a shipping problem with our cabinetry

for our display unit. The cabinets are finally on the way but they

won't reach us until sometime next week. That unfortunately means our

display won't be ready in time for our opening on May 3. We therefore think

its best to put the event off for a bit. Look for a new invitation with

updated information soon - we apologize for the delay.

If you're wondering - the cabinets for your home won't have this

problem. We talked to the factory in Canada and HBD and they assured us that

all of the cabinets for the 1st and 2nd floors are ordered and will be

shipped shortly. The 3rd and 4th floors cabinetry orders are being made

now. It takes about 5-6 weeks to get the cabinets once the order is

placed. The problem with the display is the factory mistakenly thought

they could ship the display cabinets with the rest of the cabinets for

the 1st and 2nd floor.

Just a reminder that this evening is the opening party for Moon Brother's. I hear they only have a few units remaining and this will be a great opportunity to see their finished display as well as to check out how the building is shaping up. I've been driving by for the past several weeks and really like what I am seeing. Plus, think this location will prove to be great as it is a bit more relaxed, has great views on all four sides, but still affords the short walks to everything going on downtown.

Come one, come all, the party is open to everyone. Party begins at 5:30 and ends at 7:30 and I believe will be a catered event with City Grocers providing the treats.

Good party tonight. Had a nice turnout and thought the crowd was great. Loftworks did a nice job with their display unit as liked most the finishes they chose, furniture was cool and really liked the cable lights running down the entry way. What I think they did best was to show you what a standard unit really looks like and then enhanced it just a bit with a few key upgrades. I have seen other developments that almost misrepresent as everything you see in the display is an upgrade.

The more I watch this building develop the more I like it. Watch what happens with the entry way. You can already see there is a breezeway that brings you into the building. But what you don't see (yet) is that once you get about half way through the breezeway you will see through these big glass windows that display the building's mechanical systems. It will really have a great industrial feel with all the mechanics, the glass windows and the timber ceilings. Also, the north wall of the breezway will be made up of some type of metal, further detailing the industrial feel.

They will soon be putting in new storefront windows on the Delmar side, windows for the entire building will start to show up soon and eventually new sidewalks will be poured and trees planted along them. And LOVE the two mini garage doors they have for the retail space that flanks the breezeway. That will be a great space for somebody down the road.

Looking forward to seeing this one further develop!

Here you go! The display really looks great. They used a standard x08 unit and picked only modest upgrades(Looks to me to be about 10k in upgrades). It is a great representation of what the lofts will look like and wasn't deceptive like other displays I've seen, i.e. didn't have excessive upgrades in the display, didn't use a bigger than standard unit to trick buyers etc:

Yes, only the display is complete. Closings don't begin for 2 more months. We were allowed to walk freely throughout the building. I didn't take pictures of construction due to my battery being low and it is the same as all other construction pics everyone has seen before. Basically alot of drywall is up on second and first floor. The Retail space is complete and is set up as a sales office for now.

1. Yep, upgrade, through St. Louis Closets I believe.

2. No clue. You'll have to go in and physically measure or go off of the scale drawing they gave you.

It's not granite in there. The material for the counter probably was a 1k urgrade. If you look in person you can tell. Stainless backsplash runs about $700. Pulls are $12 each. I wasn't counting the appliances because they aren't included(fridge isn't included, it's for "show". you aren't considering the furnature in there a upgrade as well are you?) stainless dishwasher is standard and the oven/stove is standard. So of everything you've named, it only costs about $2000 to get the kitchen looking that way. BTW, those pendants are standard as well. 10k in the kitchen, I think not.

Wow, I'm impressed. I knew this would be a good looking building. I'm a big fan of the timber. The only thing I don't really like is the tub/shower. I personally like the walk-in style showers. I'm guessing this was an option, which would take care of my objection.

I'm looking forward to more pics when you guys start moving in

^You are correct, the Tub/Shower is a standard option, you just pick one or the other as a standard option(no extra cost). Choosing to have both a shower and a tub in a bathroom is extra. And you can also upgrade to all tile and glass walkin showers(I did), but that does have a hefty price tag. They kept alot of stuff standard in this display thought as I was saying above. That really gives you a feel for what you can get without spending a mint on upgrades.

Take a big breath! I guarantee you the kitchen counter upgrade is at least $2500. Yes I was considering the fridge because its in your photo and if you want, you pay. Stainless appliances are standard? If you say so, good on Loftworks. I'm guessing the granite and vestible sink in the bathroom and the closet organiser are only a small upgrades? And the built-in computer desk? Custom paint? I think the project is great, and I love the model, but come on ... 10K?

I'll say this one more time. That is not granite. It is a knock off substance that costs substantially less. However, I upgraded my kitchen counter, island, and master bathroom to granite at a cost of about $3800. Yes , the stainless steel dishwasher is standard. The stove/oven combo built into the island is standard.

Obviously if you consider everything in the photo it adds up to more than 10k. But you don't count the fridge just as you don't count every piece of furniture in the picture. Even if you were to count the fridge, a small non side by side fride like that runs $900 at Best Buy. The desk is an upgrade in liue of the second shower that runs about $500 if I remember correctly.

Paint I'm not counting. Paint is done after the fact, unless you want to pay $90/hour union guys to paint. The ONLY things I'm counting are things you buy through the developer, not wall decorations and furniture. What's next are you going to try and add the laptop into the price after all "It's in the photo so I pay". Please.

If you don't know what options are actually in there and are actually standard, which you clearly don't seeing as you haven't been inside the display, how are you even going to make an argument about the upgrade costs? Based on your speculation? We'll you speculated wrong.

Wrong, we just have a different set of assumptions, and mine are more realistic.

^Ok, I we'll just trust your set of assumptions based on an array of internet photos and zero experience buying through loftworks. That's way more realistic than say, oh I don't know, maybe actually visiting the display, asking what in fact is standard, and going through the buying process yourself.

After all you could did so accuratly pick the material and cost of the counters from those photos didn't you?, oh wait nope you didn't. But at least you guessed some of the standard options correctly..no wait you didn't do that either. Oh well.

Pyramid offers a "cultured granite" that only cost about $350 for my bathroom countertops when real granite was about $1000 more.
