Hopefully the trend has started because this drive in more than many in the past couple years almost all buildings were lit tonight. Such a difference. I love how the hotel tower drags the skyline northward.

I also hope this encourages the city to light up the skyline.

I could see it driving north on Rte 3 in Dupo/Cahokia. Once I got downtown, I took that eads and checked it out, the area looks awesome, when I drove up close it will feel very vegas!

Can't wait for it to be finished.

That looks sweeeet. You can see it from Collinsville? Huh, have to be looking for that when I come home in the dark from Edwardsville...while watching the road, of course.

I think, without a doubt, that a colorful night skyline could do wonders for the property values with a view.

Could really be a citywide moral boost as well.

LED lights are more efficient than incandescent, and I believe even fluorescent. Either way they last much longer and require very little maintenance.

Still don't think the white will show up very well during the daytime if they do keep them on all day, colors might though.

BTW, if you look at the second picture that RBB posted, you can see the color changing from green to white.

Little bit of combover lit up on this first one, plus some daylight pics. I think it is lit up on the last one (taken at noon), but I'm not positive...

I gotta say that the streak looks more red/orange brick than poop brown now, but I'm still disappointed (and wrong) that there isn't a glass covering.

I gotta say I really hate the fact that the parking is so prominent. When the building is lit - it looks like a giant parking garage because the top two lighted parking levels.

^ But you're not typically going to view the building from the webcam angle. I guess I'm surprised that they didn't put the parking to the north and shield it from downtown, but I don't think that the parking garages will be all that prominent.

The bottom left picture above is with the streak lit. I think it was lit up orange or red, not sure. It was much clearer on the webcam for some reason.

Blue definitely seems to show up well...

This building is going to look sweet coming from I-70, for those of you who have taken that route before. That stretch of 70, from Old North to the Arch, has a completely different feel with this building there now.

What's that big, three-story, open-air canopy on top of the garage? You know, the thing that looks like the loading area of a grain elevator?

This is from an email from Lumiere yesterday.

In addition to the previously announced SLeeK, a steakhouse and ultra lounge, and Burger Bar™ St. Louis, we will also have Peet's Coffee and Tea™, as well as Asia, where Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Vietnamese are featured on one menu. However, we haven't told you everything. Our retail shops are yet to be disclosed as well as a few other casino amenities. Keep your eyes and ears open as these will be revealed very soon.

Did you know four retail shops will open in Lumière Place? They will feature brand name collections for the contemporary man, the female fashionista, seductive unmentionables, and sundries. Brand names include Lacoste, Tommy Bahama ® , and many more.

Glad to see the brands, but still a bit concerned about:

A: Whether these shops will face onto the street.

B: The dilution of "destination" shopping within a downtown with so few such shops.

Now that might actually get me to go there. It will be the only place in the city of St. Louis that carries those brands. And I need more seductive unmentionables.

There's a Lacoste store in the Galleria. And you can buy TommyBahama in STL, just not (yet) at a dedicated store.

Interestingly engough, Tommy Bahama's website already lists the new store location, misspelled though it may be:

http://www.tommybahama.com/TBG/StoresAndCafes.jsp

PINNACLE ENTERTAINMENT INC.

LUMIER PLACE

10229 LOUIS AND CLARK ROAD

ST LOUIS, MO 63136

And I really don't want to see you in seductive unmentionables.
