Who owns Lindell/Euclid again? The adjacent building?

Yes, 4930 York Ave. It's owned by Ventas Inc, they're supposedly a real estate investment trust.jtlq53 wrote: ↑Jul 09, 2025Who owns Lindell/Euclid again? The adjacent building?
Professionals who make architectural renderings have the expertise to create a realistic building with regards to materials, structure, economics, etc. AI images, while they can be fun to make, are just fantasies like CGI at the movies. There's not a chance that anything like what Kerry posted will ever be built. And I'd argue that it would be deceptive to offer an AI computer program at an open house to people because of this dynamic.addxb2 wrote: ↑Jul 09, 2025Why? Brainstorming and sharing ideas shouldn't be limited to just those with the resources to hire someone with artistic talent. Especially on an Internet forum dedicated to cultivating urbanism. The very real undeniable truth is that AI imaging is going to be the basis of community engagement and urban planning from this point forward.PeterXCV wrote: ↑Jul 09, 2025For the love of god let this be the last idiotic AI image posted on this forum. Those images have no basis in reality.

^^ I enjoy renderings by professionals and hacks alike in this forum, myself in the latter category since I photochopped this tower as a 500-footer.
I agree with you that professionals shouldn’t be replaced when it matters. I’m onboard with the AI replacement resistance. This forum doesn’t matter though. I can describe to you my idea in a paragraph or we can use AI to visualize it, both are not necessarily relevant or based in reality. I’m a visual learner. I get excited getting my ideas out and enjoy seeing what others are dreaming of too.PeterXCV wrote:Professionals who make architectural renderings have the expertise to create a realistic building with regards to materials, structure, economics, etc. AI images, while they can be fun to make, are just fantasies like CGI at the movies. Looking like things are humming along. I did not take a pic, but there is a pretty hilarious graphic of Bob Clark giving his direct phone number “in case you notice something isn’t right” or something to that effect.

Funny how the Chase was finished in 1931, the 100 in 2020 and this tower also is beginning construction as the economy heads south. Kingshighway skyscrapers as recession indicators.

I'd argue 100 wasn't under construction during a downturn, but rather a once in a century pandemic. The economy isn't presently "heading south" (granted even status of the economy is political now). Will be interesting to see how this holds.PeterXCV wrote: ↑Sep 04, 2025Funny how the Chase was finished in 1931, the 100 in 2020 and this tower also is beginning construction as the economy heads south. Sure, obviously the economy is more complicated than 2 sentences of commentary. But the job growth the last few months has been anemic.

^even worse this morning - let's hope these warning signs mean we get a bigger rate cut in a few weeks and that kick starts some of these stalled projects... (looking at FPSE)

Depends on what we see in the next inflation report. While jobs aren’t being created right now, they also aren’t being lost. Unemployment rate is still low and jobless claims are only slightly up.
If Core inflation or PPI inflation ticks up again, cutting rates may not be advisable. Inflation is worse than losing some jobs.
We have a safety net (albeit a weak one) to catch unemployed people. There is no safety net to prevent peoples’ savings from being wiped out

Yea not sure how you could look at the economic indicators we are seeing and not think the economy is heading south.
Fed will cut rates in September, which will hopefully boost more projects, you're right, but it will also fuel inflation- inflation that's already being fueled by needless tariffs.

The crane is up and close to 100. Hopefully some construction nerds have views in 100 facing this site. Would be a fun perspective to watch this get built.
