I've often wondered why they architects did not cover the HVAC (or whatever is on the roof) with panels to match the building. 100 would be so much more attractive without the HVAC exposed on the roof. It's called value engineering. They V.E.'d One Hundred to death. It was so disappointing....it was supposed to have a crown of sorts, if not only slightly. Otherwise, the quality of the finishes within the units is not high-grade at all. I had friends who lived there for a couple years and they described the quality of finish in their unit as "construction grade". I wince a bit whenever I see the tower. L24 poured this week. Windows installed on L14. Interior framing has reached L9. Can now see more clearly the zig-zag panel design meant to nod to the (ugly) jagged 100 design. I'm told the architect felt that the champagne color was the best he could do to transition between the cheap aluminum facade of 100 and the surrounding brick/terra cotta neighbors.
Kudus to Albion for the design elements of the street facing garage - which are another attempt at transitioning into the neighborhood - although the placement of the garage exit facing the Lindell left turn lane into Kingshighway guarantees lots of T-Bones and probably serious injuries until the city finally fixes it so that only right turns can be made out of that garage.

Loving how this is coming along. The glass reflects the sky/clouds/color in a way 100 can't with the slanted windows. Great contrast between the buildings and really fun to see from different angles in Forest Park
Poor quality but fun to see the skeleton and height getting up there

We'll soon have another proposal to discuss in the neighborhood and it's one that revives a beloved architectural design. Based on what I was most recently shown, it'll be the tallest building proposed for the Central West End outside of One Hundred and the Albion.
That was a typo. It’s the tallest in the neighborhood that’s been recently proposed, but not THE tallest. I edited it to reflect that. Enjoy that picture though. It’s my favorite view so far. As for the project, it’s the Optimist site proposal. It was discussed on here before, and I mentioned it on the CityScene Twitter a while back, but 15-stories was the height of the taller component the last time I saw it. Chris, have you heard anything about the parcel at the SW corner of Euclid and Lindell ? I heard it sold to a land speculator. This tower looks freaking beautiful. Heading east on Forsyth towards Forest Park is especially impressive- the Kingshighway skyline glistens and the Albion adds so much variety and density to the cityscape. I think it really raises St, Louis’s urban profile. Big city to the bone!

I believe you could build almost anything in the CWE and it'll do well. A luxury hotel tower included.
