Anyway, neighborhood naming debates aside, I am looking forward to a cool new tower at Kingshighway and Lindell.

(And I expect most folks know this, but Gen X-ers like myself do get cranky when we get confused with the Boomers. Makes us feel old. Or . . . well . . . older than we are, anyway. And the Boomers handed us a $#!+ sandwich of student debt and s crap economy even before the Millennials were born, so there's that too.) ;-)

So Holcim owns and operates the Raddy Hollow plant and the MLC plant?

(As an aside these things are disgusting scars on our beautiful state just like the lead mines)

Holcim does not own or operate any MLC operations as far as I know. Holcim built their facility in Bloomsdale from the ground up in 2006, reaching substantial completion in 2009.

That’s not the plant people are talking about. The enormous plant is just outside St Gen. It’s not along the river

Not sure on that one. Only have knowledge on Holcim, as my company was involved in construction of the facility.

It appears that the curb cut for the garage is in the middle of the garage facade, quite close to the corner of Lindell & Kingshighway.  Anyone exiting the building and turning left (west) must cross two east-bound lanes and the west-bound turn lane (which is often backed-up to a point east of the proposed curb cut) .  Cars barreling down Kingshwy and turning left (East) onto Lindell will be blinded to those cars exiting the building and attempting to turni left.  Fender-bender and T-Bone heaven.  Why not move the exit/entry to the easternmost Lindell edge of the garage?

The PB will OK dozens of variances to the CWEHD code - and rightly so.  However, it would be a nice nod to the neighborhood if the current starkly modern north and east elevations of the garage were to be modified by PB suggestion to provide a transition from the modern tower to the more stately neighboring buildings.  The PB took such action on the facade of the AC hotel on York and greatly improved that buildings neighborhood integration.  The addition of a modern cornice and strong horizontal accents (rather than the current vertical emphasis) might do the job.  Maybe even multiple small "L" elements, suggesting windows and picking up the larger L's on the tower itself.

Does anyone know if the staging plan will include lane closures on Kingshighway or Lindell?  One assumes that  Clayco gets whatever it wants from the Spencer administration.

Dayto, I'm wondering if they would only allow right turns in from Lindell and out to Lindell.

Quincunx - Looks good to me either way!

This is sorta what I was thinking. Not sure how you'd enforce it though without a concrete median of some kind.

But without the top band, it doesn't look like a Zippo anymore ☹️

Let's hope the garage murals shown in the current elevation do not represent a final choice.  Yikes!

Does anyone know if the relocation of the garage curb cut - which on the face of it looks awfully dangerous - has been reviewed/approved?  Who approves such requests - Traffic?

Oh. So what is that, sea level?

Many contractors will use 100-0 as the benchmark and have something like everything above FFE go up from there and down for the sub-floors.  I believe that we are around 450 above sea level.

^ Yep, Mississippi River (which is the lowest point) is about 400' ASL and most of STL proper is in the 450-650 range.

Missed a chance for the amenity deck to wrap the building... the park view is cool but the city view is even better. Maybe they know that Euclid/Lindell on that parking lot will obscure it in a few years 😉 In any case, excited to see this one moving forward!

I’m a bit surprised they aren’t putting a patio on that side, but I guess the small set of windows at the northeast corner will give a good view of the City.
