Ok, only problem is that I attended the Chuck Berry concert at Blueberry Hill this week and talked with Joe Edwards, himself. He says there are still problems with the space. I only spoke with him briefly so I didn't have the opportunity to ask follow-on questions. All I'm saying is, this isn't a done deal apparently.

It is now. Closing occured yesterday. Joe now owns the space.

Cool. Since it sounds like you live/work real close by, keep us updated.

Hopefully they'll move with the speed they did Pin-Up Bowl. That seemed to be completed very quickly.

I would assume it should take around 6 months from start to finish (just a guess, but when you think of all that will go into getting all their stuff in.) Does anyone know if they're going to have a menu? Or just a bar?

Can't wait to hear some of the names people come up with for downtown bowling leagues. Begin the brainstorm...

I am involved with the project, but can't comment too much just yet. It will be an aggressive time line (late November / early December completion has been the consensus). An opening date will be set within the next few weeks--I'll post it once it's on the calendar. Wish I could give more details now... There will be a website up shortly that will post construction updates and field any questions about leagues, etc.

Good news. Joe Edward's new joint, the Flamingo Bowl, is scheduled to open on December 7th. It's located at 1117 Washington Ave.
