I'll admit it looks way better lit up. Lit up at night it definitely becomes more about the sign then how the sign looks on the building, which was my initial complaint.

Sign itself lit up...nice addition to the streetscape.

Sign in context of buidling...me likey not so much.

Still am excited to go. Hopefully I can get down there Thursday after my hockey game, otherwise, it'll be friday happy hour...Sidebar will miss me...

Noticed the sign in motion today...

The part that says "SEASON’S" was followed up by "GREETINGS" and the martini glasses and bowling pins that go around the sign alternate.

Cool pic. My network saw 5 beer trucks unloading in front of Flamingo today... Anybody thirsty?

walked by tonight and lo and behold they were open and PACKED!!!! This place is amazing. The finishes, the lanes, the overall look is so well done and comfortable. This place is sure to be a city-wide hit! Check it out soon!

I love the sign. It is instantly iconic.

Joe is the best local bar/restaurant developer in the STL market.

His concepts trancend time. They are built to withstand design/trend

changes and will never have to be re-concepted. His staff always reflects the true feel of the concept/location and loves working for him.

And, I predict that STL's inevitable smoking ban will exclude bowling alleys!!

Can't wait to check out F.B. this weekend on my monthly STL bar-cation.

Was out kinda late last night and man, that thing puts off more light than the great lighthouse of Alexandria (not that I've seen it). I was down at 14th and you could see this thing calling you. I'll concede defeat and say this sign may be up there with the WOW sign.

To make a point, however, the sign looks way better when the illustration is dark and the Flamingo is a bright pink outline. As I had suggested...(cough, cough)

True. I especially like the "dancing" bowling pins/martini glasses.

^ Some food, yup. We're planning on starting with food for thirty but may order more within budgetary constraints if there is demand.

BTW, I went last night and met up with BL211 and 63101. Apparently I missed TWOTA. And no, we didn't wear nametags! The descriptions from the others are spot on. The place is just super cool and a blessing for the neighborhood.

Hope to see some of you tonite.

Can someone post the details for tonight? If I can make it I'll be the one holding a martini and wearing bowling shoes! Seriously though, I'm hoping to make it and will be wearing a Big Shark bike shop hat (and glasses) if I do.

I just got back from the Mayor's ribbon cutting. The place is great. Compared to pin up bowl, it is night and day better, mostly because of the added space. Sadly, greatness could not be attributed to my bowling when i was there. I am trying to make it to the resident party if i can. Worth checking out, it's certainly going to liven up the street even more.

Look for the group of nerds huddled in the corner quietly arguing about homelessness, or Ballpark Village, or... A few of them may have laptops and be posting on Urban St. Louis.

At the opening: Hizzoner's opening toss, er roll, left a pair, but he was stymied in his efforts to pick them up because, um, someone forgot to turn the lanes on. His ball didn't come back.

Wow. What an awesome place. Hail Joe Edwards! Beers starting at $4.00, not sure I'll be able to do it every night, but what a scene. Real big too, so it probably won't feel as crowded as Pin Up.

^ Yeah, pictures of the place and people attending the shindig. BTW, just taking an initial glance at them and many look fantastic. I tried to get as many people in as I could but please don't be sad if I missed you. People will be pleased with them I think. I'll post them fairly soon.
