Has anyone heard when this is supposed to open?

Yea I would like to see this I need to go down there this weekend to see whats going on.

Last I heard is the completion is in March. IIRC Amtrak is ready, but Greyhound won't be moving until June.
Does anyone have any updated pictures? From Thanksgiving weekend perhaps
No pictures; sorry.
They are working on the landscaping between the Metrolink tracks and the back side of the station: it looks pretty good.
Plus it looks like they're jackhammering up a bunch of the freshly laid concrete on the drive in front of the building. Somebody messed up and they're going back to fix it.

Thanks! I think this is just a great idea and I can't wait to see it in full operation. Wonder why Greyhound is dragging their feet?
Great pics.
I still wonder who was the genius that came up with the idea of snaking a transit center under a highway in an earthquake zone.
Perhaps an underground tunnel to the Amtrak tracks would have been more interesting and safe?

True - but forget the earthquake possibility. It's a certainty that the double-deck Interstate will have to be rebuilt in the not-too-distant future.
What is "not-too-distant"? 25 years?
Regardless, it's good to see the progress on this project even though its layout is odd.

^ Geesh - I try to be as vague as possible on here and use as many qualifiers as I can - but you're the first to call me out on it! Looking at the structure (and I'm no engineer - though I did take one year of college courses in engineering!) I would guess less than 10 years. I would say 5 years, but it's surprising how long something can stay standing!
^They've been retrofitting the interstate to seismic codes for the last few years (they appear to be nearly finished). If you look closely at the columns and the structural connections you will notice that they have recently been changed. I would assume that any structural deficiencies would have been delt with during this process and that the highway will be fuctional for at least another 15 years.
On a different note thanks for the great pics! I hope to see it in person come March once it opens.

Good call - I guess those are the steel belts/rings/caps/whatever-you-call-them that are on many columns?

Sounds great. Yeah, I've known about the retrofitting. I just don't trust it, but I guess they know what they are doing. On another note, what I hope the city and/or MoDot allows is for the highway support columns, which the transit center snakes through, to be lit up and/or creative transportation artwork and signage (or art wraps) to be placed on them. Perhaps the city, Greyhound and Amtrak could commission artists to take on the aesthetic enhancement of the area.
When rolling by on MetroLink, the area could definitely use some spiffing up.

^ That's a cool idea - simply lighting the columns with different colored spotlights would be smooth, but what about a trompe d'oeil (I know I spelled that wrong somehow) to match the hotel?

Colored spotlights projecting onto the overhead ramps, matching the window-glass colors, perhaps.
The multi-mode-center needs a tall and distinctive sign to rise up and loom over Highway 40. It should be large enough to inspire a few eyesore complaints.

I still hate when I hear "MetroBus" because it sounds so forced. This is St. Louis! It will always be BI-STATE!!!!!!

I still use the name Bi-State from time to time. Bi-State had a few dumb idea in the 80's. Once they decided to paint red lighting bolts on the sides of the busses to excited the masses; that wasn't enough, Bi-State also once replaced the "Bus Stop" street signs with "Bus Start" signs; now that's genius.
"Metro" is a more recognizable and understandable denominator:
Metro in St. Louis,

Metro in Moscow,

Every time I drive down 18th street I can't help but think the stoplight for the new roadway just south of Clark is really a poor idea. Two lights within 50 yards of each other will not work.

The Comptroller's office says in February. For now they could put this extra light on yellow flash rather than red flash.
