I'll bet! I got to meet him (briefly) when he was in town for Teddy Bear's Picnic about 5-6 years ago. He's been a long time favorite of mine, going all the way back to the early days of SNL.

Same visit. The frequently mentioned Tom McDermott came to town with him, and we started the night at 33 before wandering over to King Louie's. I really didn't care for Teddy Bear's Picnic, but the guy is a fabulous wit and a great dinner companion.

I had a similar reaction. There were some inspired moments, and a lot of possibilities, but a lot of it was just kind of flat.

I'm gonna see if I can eventually get this thread to talk about old monster movies from the 50s.

I don't know if it qualifies as a "monster movie", but I was dismayed to read recently that somone is remaking The Day The Earth Stood Still, and the Klaatu character, originally played by Michael Rennie, would be played by Keanu Reeves. Luckily I hadn't eaten dinner yet.

No, CS...that doesn't count. But that is a disturbing occurrence. Keanu as a hip surfer...cool. Keanu as a dumb SoCal HS dude...cool. Keanu as Neo, the computer hacker savior to human kind in a world rules by machines...okay? Keanu as a benevolent visitor from space...huh?

I liked Keanu in Constantine.

I did think he was tailor made for that role. A sulky, low talking, smokestack who sent demons back to hell.

Are they doing a second movie?

Dude, it wasn't that bad. I mean it did parallel the matrix in many aspects but I think it was pretty darn good. And he was awesome in Devil's Advocate.

I liked Constantine, didn't like Devils Advocate. I liked the story, but Pacino needs to stop yelling, and Reeves as a southern lawyer...eh, no thanks. Although, Charlize is hot.

Well, he's definitely out there.

He'll just walk around with THAT LOOK on his face, and go "huh?...I don't understand you earth-people." Just like in real life.

There's one on Chippewa, just west of Gravois. There's also one on the corner of Grand and Gravois. Those are two that I know are in my neighborhood.

There is one on Chippewa east of Gravois. We have a good amount really. Some are simply hidden. We also apparently have a brothel off North Broadway.
