how hard can it possibly be to catch a serial arsonist that repeatedly hits THE SAME BLOCK. you set up surveillance and wait. STLPD is completely useless.

And the original tweet I linked makes it sound like area residents know who it is too, but that person supposedly has some form of political connection? Looks like some of the original twitter thread has been deleted though? Perhaps the police asked for that to not tip of the suspect (even though I’m making the assumption that didn’t matter since they struck again)?

Who owns the empty fields next door? With all this creativity you'd think something interesting is installed until a building materializes.
About a year ago an employee at Made mentioned they wanted to turn that field into an outdoor craft or makers market.

I believe the people behind this project also own the land to the east.RuskiSTL wrote: ↑Jan 31, 2020Who owns the empty fields next door? With all this creativity you'd think something interesting is installed until a building materializes.
FWIW, there's grading going on for what appears to be a large parking lot between 3rd Degree and the new Craft Alliance space. Also, this cute little gas station at
Delmar and Lake is being rehabbed, but I don't know what for:

The gas station was rehabbed several years ago. They rehabbed it to move Delmar Lee's chop suey there a few years ago so that Third Degree could take over their space in their building.framer wrote: ↑Jan 31, 2020FWIW, there's grading going on for what appears to be a large parking lot between 3rd Degree and the new Craft Alliance space. ^OK, thanks. There's a construction trailer on site, so I thought it was still being worked on (guess that's for 3rd Degree's project).

A couple pictures of the new Craft Alliance on Delmar. Very impressive addition to the street next to 3rd Degree Glass and across the street from Made.

Restaurant will have 4,538 SF with a ~2,500 SF rooftop bar. Four 1,200 SF retail bays and on 1,800 SF retail bay. Three office suites of various size on the second floor. This is across Delmar from Third Degree, and a Phase 2 is shown for the property immediately to the west, including the building at the corner of Delmar and Union. Full brochure with more renderings is attached.

Momentum is building. Happy to see a taller building up to the sidewalk. How many tenants occupy the existing building?

I hate to be nitpicky, but the new parking lot across from MADE has pretty poor pedestrian connectivity to the sidewalk. The one sidewalk connection is unlikely to be used by most given it's placement in the northeast corner. Most pedestrians surely use the driveway curb cut, which will be closer to where they parked. There REALLY should have been another sidewalk connection west of the driveway. Maybe they're planning a crosswalk here in the future. But the current path will feel "out of the way" and non-intuitive for most people exiting the lot, especially since they will likely double back to the west to cross Delmar where the median/turn lane exists. Apparently stupid designs like this just frustrate me when every opportunity was available to make this more intuitive, convenient, and safe.

Amazing what our ancestors were able to put on "small lots."

Has anyone heard anything regarding the arsons that plagued this area? I remember someone posted on social media regarding who was behind it (and insinuating they had some level of political cover so they’d never actually get arrested for it) but that was a year or two ago?
There's a new occupational therapy clinic coming to the southeast corner of Delmar and Lake (tucked in behind the existing building). Very interesting project, being designed by Wash U students.

Glad to hear the chop suey spot will remain. That’s a cool little building.
