This is great news and all but also aggravating since not very long ago a perfectly intact historic building on Forest Park Ave (?Brauer building) was demolished by CORTEX claiming Techshop needed a newly configured space.
Fast forward a couple years :TechShop is gone and so is another heritage brick building

My fiance and I are very excited for it to open up after it relocates... we're hoping to tinker with some ideas to start our own business and Techshop closed at the worst possible time.

Excellent another link in the chain between the Loop and CWE, another decade and it will be a continuous developed corridor... decade seems like a long time doesn't it?

This is really exciting! Nothing brings stronger interest to areas than a well known and  family friendly venue. It's important that more family centric venues be available in the City of St. Louis. I'm often perturbed when having to drive to West and South St. Louis County to attend a child friendly establishments such as the Myseum, Sky Zone, etc. Looking forward to the success of this satellite location along with continued awareness that the City of St. Louis is a great place to invest and live.

I'm hopeful that we may see some of the homes directly to the North get tackled as rehabs.  If people are going to be visiting this and using the space - maybe one or two might decide it's worth the plunge to live nearby.

My daughter (7yo) will be going to their summer camp this summer. We went to the grand opening and she has been talking about wanting to do the camp since then.

This place is amazing.  Watching innovation and entrepreneurship accelerate across St. Louis has me wishing I had some other talents or amazing ideas so that I could have a reason to join the new Maker Space.

PostJun 12, 2019#17

First I’ve heard of this, but looks like there’s now an organized effort trying to make Delmar between Kingshighway and Union a district. From MADE STL’s Twitter:

Which links their Instagram post that tags a profile for delmarmakerdistrict,

Which has a link to their current website of: https://www.delmarmakerdistrict.com/

The delmarmakerdistrict Instagram page profile says “A collaborative effort to establish a community of creative entrepreneurs along Delmar Blvd. between Union & Kingshighway in the City of St. Louis.”

So it looks like Third Degree and MADE hope to create a hub for people who want to be entrepreneurs but who may not be served by CORTEX’s focus on technology and IT.

The (empty?) building just to the west of MADE is having some work done. Anyone know what's up?

I still don't know what's going in the empty building, but it does look like a pretty extensive rehab is underway.

Somewhat related:

Anyone else know what they're working on specifically?  I know this is Third Degree and not specifically Maker Space, but close enough since they're working on making that section of Delmar a maker related corridor.

5129 Enright (from the above Twitter post and stltoday story):

5104 Enright (coincidence?):

Same block. I'm sure there are more nearby. We totes don't need that aerial surveillance though.

EDIT: Ah, most definitely:
Garon Mosby of the St. Louis Fire Department called the fire highly suspicious and said it is one of three fires set in the past week in the same area around the same time. The Bomb and Arson Squad is investigating.
