Is the roundabout a part of the higher number? Other "might as well while were at it"?

Is the $6.7M in part or in whole part of the of the $44M?

Where is the rest of the money coming from? Debt? Mo History pulle dout its $1M and WashU said it only chipped in $100k.

A WashU student is not enthused about the trolley project.

I very much disagree that the trolley is crowding out N'S Metrolink expansion. Spreading out the region, fragmentation, highway building in the past, maintenance thereof, and more in the future, lack of state and federal funding, other infrastructure burdens due to spreading out (like expanding a sewer system instead of fixing what was already built then being mandated to improve it for billions while many have died or left leaving us holding the bag), making transit serve an unnecessarily large area, etc are.

$6.7M is not part of the $44m. when the bids came in high ($44m) the trolley folks said they would cut out items and make the project work within the $44M but what they didn't say is that their plan was just to go to EWG and get extra $6.7m there to pay for the items they cut out when the bid came in at $44M (already over budget to begin with)

I don't really think the MetroLink funding argument is very complete. The trolley got $25mil, MetroLink would cost around a billion. If only we cancelled twenty trolley projects and put that money toward matching MetroLink funding instead!

I mean, I understand the value of MetroLink, but a local trolley project is a completely different animal than a regional rail connector an order of magnitude more expensive..

This stuff was in the 2014-2017 TIP before the bidding was done, correct? See page 263 (B-165). Two projects totaling $7.6M. Then there's 2946B-11 on page 129 (B-51) that says $35.2M then notes for a total of $44M which I guess includes the two others. DO the two get rolled into one so that's why it got a new number?

Original amount was $35.2m than i guess they did real estimates and founded out they were $7.6M short...than the 2 others (on page 263 were added to catch up with the latest estimate and than finally rolled into one, the $44M job

$44m (35.2+7.6+ inflation maybe?) was in the TIP before awarding/bidding but the $6.7M is new money since it was selected from the STP pot this year...much after the 2014-2017 TIP was approved and printed

So I know I'm late to this party and I'm sure it's been addressed in this thread, but will the Loop Trolley have overhead wires?

Yes... the loop trolley has overhead power.

"This man is very sick stewardess ... and we must get this man to a hospital." - "yes, but what is it?" ... "it's a large building with patients in it, but that doesn't matter right now."

Hopefully this is just over-reactionary paranoid auto-centric alarmism, but it looks like it could be a completely bone-headed move on the part of the engineers. They should know that people generally suck at parallel parking: http://fox2now.com/2015/10/19/parking-p ... y-project/

"Officials say they have $52 million in cash to make changes."

Is this a slip up or a first public acknowledgment that it isn't just $44m

^^ How does this trolling bullsh*t pass for news?
That worries drivers like Redina Grissom. Grissom said, “I would not park and shop here if my car is going to get hit. Madden: Do you think it could? Grissom: Yeah, if it’s this close to the car yes.”
REEEEEEEAAAAAAALY!!!??? You would't park here if your car is going to get hit? You don't say! But wait… you also won't SHOP here because—if you were to park in one of these 12 F*CKING SPACES—your car would get hit? Well, that's just f*cking STUPID! PARK IN ONE OF THE OTHER 50,000 F*CKING PARKING SPACES IN THE AREA.
Grissom added, “I’d rather not park here if my car is going to get hit.”
Oh! Okay, because it wasn't f*cking clear enough when you said, "I would not park and shop here if my car is going to get hit"!
If the trolley and parked cars are too close for comfort they have a backup plan: move the curb 12 to 18 inches.
F*CKING DUH! This isn't news, and it isn't controversial. Jesus...

Dumb story. There's a 95% chance that those parallel spaces in question would be taken anyway, so I guess these people who were interviewed expect to park RIGHT THERE, or else they'll just go home? I got an idea-- if you can't parallel park, ride the trolley!

Did anyone notice that Roche Madden said "reporting live from U. City"? No, that's not U. City.

I was once stuck Downtown on an Amtrak train for 45 minutes while the crew tried to find the idiot that parked too close to the tracks. A patron at Al Hrabosky's, no doubt.

Wow. I did not realize the Kansas City is spending twice as much on their Streetcar project. I have new respect for St Louis's efforts.
