That's an odd article. The steel frame for the bridge went up last weekend. I'd assume the concrete placement is indeed happening tomorrow as it looks like the corrugated steel decking is in place. I guess the article a basically just a repost of a press release.

Got a moment to snap a photo of the progress while coming out of the Park:

^It's nice to see that it really will be taller than it was. I still don't care for the glass cylinder bit, but . . . and I honestly liked the general look of the old building better. But this isn't bad, and the sheer mass of it is nice enough.

Yep, great pic.   Filling the corner at Kingshighway & Lindell will only add to the wall.

The new Queeny Tower (or whatever they're calling it) looks good. The crane should come down soon.

Is there going to be a restaurant at the top of the new Queeny Tower?

Looks like Wash U closed the Grant Medical Clinic at Taylor & West Pine. Traffic cones blocking the parking lot and not a soul in sight for weeks, I presume they got moved into the new building on Forest Park Ave. Sure would be nice if they'd sell it for residential development but nonprofit institutions love to landbank their tax exempt property...

Grant Medical Clinic showing its address as 4320 Forest Park Avenue, a.k.a. Cortex One. Google is showing the old location, 114 North Taylor, as 'Permanently Closed'... Maybe, just maybe, this could be a harbinger for a better redevelopment of the Optimists International Building? Pure speculation.

I've heard rumor that the site will be developed in conjunction with a mid rise multi family on optimist site.  It will obviously require demo approval for optimist site.

Does anyone here have intel about what on earth is taking WashU Med so long to pour some cement and reopen the pedestrian plaza by Metrolink? At least some of the time no one's even working behind the fences.

Major props to WashU.  Number 2 in NIH funding...STL is very fortunate to have a major research university in our backyard.

Over the past several decades, 115 WashU startups, including 38 companies in the St. Louis region that employ more than 1,100 people, have attracted more than $6 billion in private-sector investment. Since 2023, 80% of WashU startups are investor-funded or revenue generating. (Image: Sara Moser/WashU Medicine)

Sounds like $6B is over the 115 startups, while the 38 in STL have 1100 employees.

Not sure where to put this:

"At a defining moment for public health in the United States, Washington University in St. Louis has received a $200 million commitment to fortify its newly established School of Public Health. The landmark investment, the largest in WashU history, will help the nation meet current and future public health challenges."
