^I have wondered if that is a candidate for a re-clad at some point instead of a tear down. But BJC doesn't seem to care too much about how older buildings look. More about interior function, understandably.

I think the new tower is going to look pretty nice. It will at least have a very BJC-feel to it.

I wonder if they will ever replace the nearby Plaza Tower, which from the outside looks every bit as dated as the old Queeny Tower.
Odd that you should say that. I loved the old Queeny Tower and I much suspect the new building will look dated in about fifteen years. I sincerely wish they could at least ditch the tube.

I don’t believe the Plaza Tower is going anywhere anytime soon…but considering I’ve been up close and personal with the newer Parkview Tower I’d tend to agree with the jawhawk…I think they look relatively nice. They’re not going to win any awards…but they have a nicer urban form and design than many other buildings on their campus.

Second crane base is in place. Interesting siting for it right at the corner of Kingshighway and Barnes Jewish Hospital Plaza.

^^^ Love the aerial shots from that angle, SC!

This will rise to about the same height as the main BJC hospital building, correct?

It’ll be slightly taller than its next door neighbor:

Is that the main big building?

Probably for the rebuilt ped bridge into the Hundlin Park garage. Sadly, the existing one is already significant…but early renderings had them replacing it.

The existing bridge is a nice design, but the entry inside is pretty depressing. This should be a big improvement overall.
